The list of class changes in patch 7.0.3 is quite extensive.

Documented changes

Main article: Patch 7.0.3
  • Characters can now change between any of their specializations while out of combat. Action bar configurations and talent loadouts are saved for each specialization. As a result, Dual Specialization has been removed.
  • Draenor Perks have been removed from the game.
  • Players may now change talents freely when in any rested XP area. The Inscription profession can craft consumable items that allow for this to be done in the field. In addition, after queuing into an instanced dungeon, raid, or PvP content, players have a grace period during which they may change talents freely.

Hunter

  • Gnomes can now be Hunters.
  • Hunters can now equip Mail armor from level 1 (down from level 40).

Paladin

  • Paladins can now equip Plate armor from level 1 (down from level 40).

Shaman

  • Shaman can now equip Mail armor from level 1 (down from level 40).

Warrior

  • Warriors can now equip Plate armor from level 1 (down from level 40).

  • [Astral Communion] has been redesigned and is now a level 90 talent. Generates 75 Astral Power.
  • [Astral Influence] added.
  • [Barkskin] has a new visual animation.
  • [Bear Form] now increases armor by 200% (down from 250%) and stamina by 55% (up from 20%). No longer increases threat generation. Mana cost removed.
  • [Berserk] is no longer available to Guardian and only affects [Cat Form].
  • [Celestial Alignment] has been redesigned. Now increases spell damage by 30% and Astral Power generated by [Lunar Strike] and [Solar Wrath] by 50% for 15 seconds.
  • [Cyclone] is now an honor talent for Balance and Restoration druids.
  • [Dash] no longer removes all roots and snares.
  • [Ferocious Bite] is now available only to Feral. No longer has double critical strike chance against bleeding targets. Damage increased by 45%.
  • [Frenzied Regeneration] is now available only to Guardian and redesigned. Heals the druid for 50% of all damage taken in the last 5 sec over 3 sec, minimum 5% of maximum health.
  • [Gore] added.
  • [Growl] no longer activates [Bear Form] if not used in it. Now increases threat generated while the target is taunted.
  • [Healing Touch] now heals for 400% of spell power, up from 360%.
  • [Infected Wounds] re-added. Now affects [Rake] instead of [Shred] and [Mangle].
  • [Innervate] re-added and redesigned. Now causes a friendly target to cast spells without spending mana for 10 seconds.
  • [Ironbark] now has a cooldown of 1.5 minutes, up from 60 seconds.
  • [Ironfur] added.
  • [Lifebloom] no longer has its duration refreshed upon casting [Regrowth] or [Healing Touch]. Heal over time reduced by 32%, final heal increased by 24.3%.
  • [Maim]'s total damage is now based solely on weapon damage.
  • [Mangle] is now available only to Guardian and deals 20% additional damage against bleeding targets. Damage increased by 13% and generates 6 Rage (down from 10).
  • [Maul] no longer deals additional damage to bleeding targets. Damage increased by 12.5%.
  • [Mark of Ursol] added.
  • [Mastery: Harmony] is now learned at level 78 and has been redesigned.
  • [Mastery: Nature's Guardian] added.
  • [Mastery: Razor Claws] now increases damage done by bleed abilities by 16% (was 25%) and is learned at level 78.
  • [Mastery: Starlight] added.
  • [Moonfire]'s direct damage has been increased by 142.5%, damage per tick increased by 96%, and its duration increased to 16 seconds (from 14).
  • [Moonkin Form] now causes single-target attacks against the druid to have a 15% chance make their next damaging spell instant. Armor bonus increased to 200% (up from 100%), but no longer increases Mastery.
  • [Primal Fury] is now available only to Feral and no longer affects [Bear Form].
  • [Prowl] no longer reduces movement speed by 30%.
  • [Rake] now deals 100% more damage when used from [Prowl]. Damage increased by 76.5%.
  • [Rejuvenation] is now available only to Restoration. Healing per tick increased by 11%, now lasts for 15 seconds (up from 12).
  • [Revitalize] added.
  • [Rip]'s damage has been increased by 90.9%.
  • [Shooting Stars] has been redesigned and is now a level 90 talent. Gives [Moonfire] and [Sunfire] a chance to deal additional damage and generate Astral Power.
  • [Shred] is now available only to Feral. No longer reduces the target's movement speed.
  • [Stampeding Roar] is now available only to Feral and Guardian druids.
  • [Starfall] has been redesigned. Now deals damage in a targeted area and applies a debuff that increases damage taken by [Moonfire] and [Sunfire].
  • [Starfire] has been replaced by [Lunar Strike].
  • [Sunfire] is no longer available to Feral or Guardian. Direct damage increased by 157%, damage per tick increased by 96%. Now lasts for 12 seconds, down from 24 seconds.
  • [Survival of the Fittest] has been redesigned and is now a talent. Reduces the cooldowns of [Barkskin] and [Survival Instincts] by 33%.
  • [Swiftmend] no longer requires [Rejuvenation] or [Regrowth] to be active on the target and heals for 100% more, but has a 100% increased cooldown.
  • [Swipe] (Bear Form) re-added. No longer deals an additional 20% damage against bleeding targets.
  • [Swipe]'s (Cat Form) damage increased by 185.7%.
  • [Thick Hide] added.
  • [Thrash] (Bear Form) is now available only to Feral and Guardian and has a 6 second cooldown. Direct damage increased by 260%, periodic damage reduced by 10%, Rage cost reduced from 25 to 15.
  • [Thrash]'s (Cat Form) damage reduced by 12%.
  • [Tranquility] now heals for 100% more while not in a raid setting. Healing increased by 260%.
  • [Wild Growth] now heals 6 targets, up from 5. Healing reduced by 15%.
  • [Wild Mushroom] has been removed from the game and replaced with the redesigned [Efflorescence] for the Restoration specialization only.
  • [Wrath] has been replaced by [Solar Wrath].

  • [Arcane Barrage]'s damage has been increased by 74%, and damage increase per Arcane Charge increased to 60% (up from 50%).
  • [Arcane Blast] is no longer tied to [Frostfire Bolt]. Spell power scaling increased to 150% (up from 121%) and damage increase per Arcane Charge increased to 60% (up from 50%).
  • [Arcane Explosion] now has a guaranteed chance to generate an Arcane Charge. Damage increased by 37.6%. Mana cost increased by 100% and damage increased by 60% per Arcane Charge.
  • [Arcane Missiles]'s damage per wave increased by 22.8%, base chance to proc per spell reduced to 15% (down from 40%). Now deals 50% more damage per Arcane Charge (down from 60%).
  • [Arcane Power] now increases spell damage by 30% (up from 20%) and reduces mana cost by 30% (from costing 10% more). Duration reduced to 10 seconds (from 15 seconds).
  • [Blizzard] now has a cast time instead of being a channeled spell. Movement speed reduction reduced to 30% (from 50%). Damage increased by 20%.
  • [Brain Freeze] has been redesigned. Now gives [Frostbolt] a 10% chance to cause the next [Flurry] to be instant cast and apply a debuff that causes the target to take damage from the mage's spells as if it were frozen.
  • [Combustion] has been redesigned. Now increases critical strike by 100% and Mastery equal to the Critical Strike stat for 10 seconds. Cooldown increased from 45 seconds to 2 minutes.
  • [Cone of Cold] is now available only to Frost. Damage increased by 20%. Now slows for 70% (up from 60%) for 5 seconds (down from 6 seconds).
  • [Conjure Refreshment Table] was merged into [Conjure Refreshment].
  • [Displacement] added.
  • [Dragon's Breath]'s damage has been increased by 190%.
  • Enhanced Pyrotechnics added.
  • [Evocation] now restores 100% of total mana over 6 seconds.
  • [Fingers of Frost] now has a 12% chance to proc from [Frostbolt] and [Frozen Orb] (down from 15%) and no longer increases [Ice Lance] damage.
  • [Fire Blast] is now available only to Fire, always a critical strike, unaffected by the global cooldown, and can be cast while casting other spells. Damage increased by 77.4%.
  • [Fireball]'s damage has been increased by 30%.
  • [Flamestrike]'s base cast time has been increased to 4 seconds, up from 2. Now affected by [Hot Streak]. No longer causes additional damage over time. Cooldown removed. New spell animation.
  • [Flurry] added.
  • [Frost Armor] now increases Haste instead of Multistrike. Chilled duration increased from 5 seconds to 15 seconds.
  • [Frostbolt]'s damage has been reduced by 5%. Now reduces movement speed by 30%, down from 50%.
  • [Frozen Orb]'s damage has been increased by 943.8%, and the slow duration increased to 15 seconds (up from 2 seconds).
  • [Hot Streak] has been re-added as a Fire mage passive and redesigned. Getting two direct-damage critical strikes in a row will make the next [Pyroblast] or [Flamestrike] spell instant cast, and cause double the normal [Mastery: Ignite] damage.
  • [Ice Lance]'s damage has been increased by 52%. Now deals 200% more damage to frozen targets, up from 100%.
  • [Icy Veins] now increases haste by 30%, up from 20%.
  • [Invisibility] has been replaced by [Greater Invisibility] for Arcane mages.
  • [Presence of Mind] is now a level 15 talent and only affects [Arcane Blast].
  • [Pyroblast] no longer deals fire damage over time. Damage increased by 65%, cast time increased to 4.5 seconds (up from 3.5 seconds). Its benefits from [Hot Streak] have been changed.
  • [Scorch]'s damage has been increased by 100%.
  • [Time Warp]'s tooltip has been reworded to increase Haste.

  • [Agony]'s damage has been increased by 644%, and its duration reduced to 18 seconds (down from 24).
  • [Backdraft] is now a level 15 talent.
  • [Call Dreadstalkers] added.
  • [Chaos Bolt] now costs Soul Shards and inflicts Chaos damage instead of Shadow. Damage increased by 26.3%
  • [Conflagrate] no longer reduces movement speed on targets afflicted by [Immolate].
  • [Corruption] is now only available to Affliction. Damage per tick reduced by 11%, but lasts now for 14 seconds (down from 18 seconds), effectively increasing damage by 14.47%.
  • [Demonic Empowerment] added.
  • [Demonic Gateway] now has a 10 second cooldown.
  • [Demonwrath] added.
  • [Doom] has been redesigned. It now deals damage after 20 seconds, generating a Soul Shard.
  • [Drain Life] is once again a baseline ability. Healing significantly increased.
  • Enslave Demon no longer reduces the enslaved demon's haste.
  • [Eradication] is now a level 60 Destruction talent.
  • [Eye of Kilrogg] now also detects invisibility.
  • [Fire and Brimstone] is now a level 60 talent and redesigned.
  • [Hand of Gul'dan] has been redesigned. It now deals damage to the target and nearby enemies, summoning Wild Imps.
  • [Havoc] is no longer limited to 3 casts (or 1 [Chaos Bolt]). Duration reduced to 8 seconds (down from 15), cooldown reduced to 20 seconds (down from 25).
  • [Health Funnel] is now available to all specializations. Now sacrifices 24% of the player's health (from 12%) to heal the demon for double the amount (from 36% of the demon's health).
  • [Immolate] now has a 15% chance to generate a Soul Shard (double on critical strikes). Direct damage increased by 162%, damage over time increased by 42%, duration increased to 18 seconds (up from 15).
  • [Incinerate]'s damage has been reduced by 18.46%.
  • [Life Tap] now sacrifices 10% of the warlock's maximum health (down from 15%) to restore 30% of maximum mana (from mana equal to health sacrificed).
  • [Mastery: Chaotic Energies] added.
  • [Mastery: Master Demonologist] is now learned at level 78 and has been redesigned.
  • [Mastery: Potent Afflictions] is now learned at level 78.
  • [Rain of Fire] now costs [Soul Shards] and is no longer channeled. Damage increased by 100%.
  • [Secrets of the Necrolyte] added.
  • [Seed of Corruption] no longer deals damage over time. Its detonation now deals 75.8% more damage and applies [Corruption] to all affected targets. Now requires 217.5% more damage to be detonated.
  • [Shadow Bolt] is now available only to Demonology and generates 1 Soul Shard. Its damage has been reduced by 15%.
  • [Shadowburn] is now a level 15 talent.
  • [Soul Swap] has been changed to an honor talent. No longer cost a Soul Shard but has a 20 second cooldown. Now lasts for 10 seconds (up from 3 seconds) and deals 6% of the target's total health in Shadow damage.
  • [Soulburn] is now a rank 25 honor talent and redesigned.
  • [Summon Doomguard]'s duration has been reduced from 1 minute to 25 seconds, and its cooldown reduced from 10 minutes to 3 minutes.
  • [Summon Infernal]'s duration has been reduced from 1 minute to 25 seconds, and its cooldown reduced from 10 minutes to 3 minutes. Damage reduced by 50%.
  • [Unending Breath] now also increases swim speed by 20%.
  • [Unending Resolve] now reduces damage taken by 40%, down from 50%. Duration reduced from 12 seconds to 8 seconds.
  • [Unstable Affliction] now deals 138% more per tick, and its duration has been reduced to 8 seconds (down from 14). Damage when dispelled is now affected by remaining duration. Now cost a Soul Shard instead of mana.
