Invoke Chi-Ji, the Red Crane is a Mistweaver monk talent, summoning an Effigy of Chi-Ji to assist you in combat by healing your nearby allies, and granting the monk immunity to movement impairing effects for 25 seconds.

It is an exclusive choice node with [Invoke Yu'lon, the Jade Serpent].

Notes

• Chi-Ji has a multitude of different effects. For a start, it enables the Enveloping Breath shield from the [Celestial Harmony] talent when casting [Enveloping Mist]; it can also activate [Invoker's Delight], which provides increased haste.
• Temporarily, melee damaging abilities will activate [Mastery: Gust of Mists], and automatically apply instant healing to damaged friendly targets. These Gusts will also count towards the cooldown reduction (CDR) effect of [Jade Bond].
• Each ability also adds a stack towards an instant cast [Enveloping Mist], which can be used to activate [Celestial Harmony].
• Extra Tiger Palms from [Awakened Jadefire] and extra Blackout Kicks from [Teachings of the Monastery] all count for both Gusts and cast time stacks. These casts will also activate the [Ancient Teachings] buff, as usual. Overall this makes [Tiger Palm] and [Blackout Kick] especially efficient abilities while Chi-Ji is invoked.
• As an auxiliary effect Chi-Ji can reduce slows and roots, which for example can be useful during the  [Entangling] affix.

Patch changes

• Patch 11.1.0 (2025-02-25):
  • Cooldown reduced to base 2 minutes (was 3 minutes).
  • Now causes 3 Gust of Mists per target (was 1) but only activates once per [Blackout Kick] and [Rushing Wind Kick] cast.
    
• Patch 10.1.0 (2023-05-02): [Invoke Yu'lon, the Jade Serpent] and Invoke Chi-Ji, the Red Crane now properly override each other on your Action Bar when swapping talents.

Chi-Ji kicks up Gusts of Mists with your Blackout Kick, [Rising Sun Kick], and [Spinning Crane Kick], healing up to 2 allies, and reducing the cost and cast time of your next [Enveloping Mist] by 33%, stacking 3 times. Chi-Ji now assists the Monk and deals melee damage. Now available at level 45 (was 90).

  Old: Summons an effigy of Chi-Ji, the Red Crane for 45 sec. Chi-Ji heals nearby allies with Crane Heal for (150% of attack power).
