Earth Shield
Earth Shield Row 3 shaman talent 40 yd range 5% of base mana Instant Protects the target with an earthen shield, increasing your healing on them by 20% and healing them for (70.1% of Spell Power) when they take damage. This heal can only occur once every few seconds. Maximum 9 charges. Earth Shield can only be placed on one target at a time. Only one Elemental Shield can be active on the Shaman.

Earth Shield is shaman class talent. While active, Earth Shield causes the target to receive 20% more healing from the casting shaman, and attacks against the target will consume a charge of the shield to heal them. The spell can only be active on one target at a time, and cannot stack with [Lightning Shield] or [Water Shield].

Patch changes

• Hotfix (2024-02-08): Resolved an issue causing Earth Shield casts from another Shaman to sometimes override Earth Shield.
  
• Patch 10.1.5 (2023-07-11): Now costs 5% of base mana (was 10%).
  
• Hotfix (2023-06-26):
  • Elemental/Enhancement: Healing is now reduced by 40% in PvP combat (was 30%).
  • Restoration: Healing is now reduced by 15% in PvP combat.
    
• Hotfix (2023-05-15): Healing reduced by 30% in PvP Combat for Enhancement and Elemental.
  
• Patch 10.0.7 (2023-03-21):
  • Healing increased by 60%.
  • No longer removed any time the Shaman or the Shaman's target changes talents.
    
• Hotfix (2022-11-23): Fixed an issue causing Earth Shield to be removed when logging out, entering instances, or when dying.

• Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): (Restoration): Earth Shield is no longer a Talent and is learned by all Restoration Shaman at level 22.

  Earth Shield continues to remain available as a talent for Elemental and Enhancement shaman at level 30.
  

• Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Now a level 45 talent for all specs (was a rank 28 Restoration honor talent). Additionally, Earth Shield is now considered a magic effect.
  
• Hotfix (2017-06-13):
  • Earth Shield will now heal when an attacker takes 4% of their max health in damage (was 8%).
  • Earth Shield now has 4 charges (was 3).
    
• Patch 7.1.5 (2017-01-10):
  • Now has a 5 second cooldown.
  • Now provides 15% damage reduction (was 20%).
  • Now triggers at 8% health loss (was 6%).
  • Mana cost has been increased to 15% base mana (was 12.6%).
  • No longer dispellable.
    
• Patch 7.1.0 (2016-10-25): Protection now activates when the target takes an attack equal to 6% of their total health (was 10%).
  
• Hotfix (2016-07-26):
  • Earth Shield now procs its heal when the target takes at least 10% of their total health (was 15%).
  • Earth Shield now heals 325% of Spell Power (was 300%).
    
• Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Changed into a rank 28 honor talent (was a level 26 Restoration ability). Now causes the target to take 20% less damage instead of increasing healing done by the shaman to the target. Now heals for 300% of spell power when struck (up from 63%), but only when they take an attack equal to 15% of their total health. Number of charges reduced from 9 to 3.
  
• Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Multiple Earth Shields can now be applied to the same target.
  
• Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Earth Shield now increases healing to the affected target by 20%. No longer reduces spell pushback. Now learned at level 26 (was 10).
  
• Patch 4.1.0 (2011-04-26): Earth Shield healing done by Restoration shaman has been reduced by 20%.
  
• Patch 4.0.6 (2011-02-08): Can no longer be dispelled.
  
• Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Now a level 10 Restoration specialization ability instead of a tier 9 Restoration talent. Charges increased to 9 (up from 6).
  
• Patch 3.2.0 (2009-08-04): Dispel effects will now remove charges of Earth Shield rather than the entire aura.
  
• Patch 3.0.8 (2009-01-20): Now correctly uses the Shaman's own spell critical strike chance to determine the chance of a critical heal.
  
• Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Earth Shield threat is now added to the healer. Previously the threat was added to the target being healed. The spell pushback resistance chance has been changed to pushback reduction.
  
• Patch 2.4.0 (2008-03-25): Number of charges reduced from 10 to 6. Mana cost reduced by 50%.
