Swipe is a druid ability granted by the [Swipe] talent. It is mainly a tool to keep aggro on multiple mobs.

Tips and tactics

This is a good ability to use to keep aggro on more than one target.

Trivia

Swipe is a basic Druid spell in Hearthstone. The flavor text reads: "When a bear rears back and extends his arms, he's about to Swipe! ... or hug."

Patch changes

Patch 10.0.5 (2023-01-24): Now learned by all druids at level 10 (was a row 3 class talent). Damage reduced by 50%.
Patch 10.0.0 (2022-10-25): Now a row 3 class talent (was a level 23 Feral and Guardian ability).
Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Now available at level 23 (was 32).
Hotfix (2018-08-22): Damage increased by 15%.
Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Re-added. No longer deals an additional 20% damage against bleeding targets.
Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Removed.
Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Now also deals an additional 20% damage against bleeding targets.
Patch 4.1.0 (2011-04-26): Swipe (Bear) cooldown has been reduced to 3 seconds, down from 6, and is now trainable at level 18 (training cost has been reduced). In addition, the bonus threat from this ability has been removed and replaced with increased damage done.
Hotfix (2010-11-24): The damage done by Swipe (Bear) has been reduced by approximately 17%.
Patch 4.0.3a (2010-11-23): Damage has been reduced by 20%.
Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Now costs 30 rage (was 20), and now has a 6 second cooldown.
Patch 3.3.0 (2009-12-08): Renamed Swipe to Swipe (Bear) to separate it from Swipe (Cat), range increased to 8 yards.
Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): The [Bear Form] and [Dire Bear Form] version of this ability no longer has a targeting requirement and hits targets behind the druid and to the sides.
Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): [Feral Instinct] no longer increases threat generated in Bear form, but now increases damage done by your Swipe ability by 5/10/15%.
Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Now affects targets within a range. (Old, only affected 3 targets.)
Previously, threat generation was 1.75x damage done. Now the threat multiplier has been removed. However, the increased damage compensates the loss of threat, especially in AoE tanking scenarios.
Patch 2.0.10 (2007-03-06): No longer affected by [Savage Fury].
Patch 1.8.0 (2005-10-10): Self cooldown removed.
