Trivia

Lock and Load is an epic Hunter spell in the Grand Tournament expansion of Hearthstone. The flavor text reads: "Rexxar narrowed his eyes, grabbed his machine gun, and said: "It's go time. Lock and load." This card pays homage to that special moment."

Patch changes

Patch 10.0.0 (2022-10-25): Now a row 8 talent (was a level 50 talent).
Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Now requires level 50 (was 100). Proc chance increased to 8% (was 5%).
Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Re-added as a level 100 Marksmanship talent (was a level 43 Survival ability). Redesigned.
Previous effect: You have a 100% chance when you trap a target with Freezing Trap or Ice Trap, and a 20% chance when your Black Arrow deals damage to cause your next two Explosive Shots to cost no Focus and trigger no cooldown. Effect lasts for 12 sec and cannot occur more often than once every 10 sec.
Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Removed. Effects have been incorporated into Black Arrow.
Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Now also has a 20% chance when Black Arrow or Explosive Trap deals damage, but cannot be triggered more often than every 10 sec.
Patch 4.3.2 (2012-01-31): No longer benefits [Arcane Shot], nor is it consumed by Arcane Shot.
Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Moved from Tier 4 to Tier 3 and now has 2 Ranks (50/100%), down from 3 (33/66/100%). No longer procs from Explosive Trap, Immolation Trap, or Black Arrow.
Patch 3.2.0 (2009-08-04):
- Now has a 22 second cooldown. The Lock and Load effect cannot be obtained on targets immune to snare effects when Frost Trap is used.
- The tooltip for this talent has been updated to indicate that it also works with [Explosive Trap].
Patch 3.1.2 (2009-05-19): The tooltip has been corrected to display its actual chance to occur.
Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): Now procs off [Freezing Trap], [Freezing Arrow] or [Frost Trap] instead of any trap, and periodic damage with your [Immolation Trap] or [Black Arrow] instead of Stings. Now has a new spell effect and sound.
