Hunter's Mark is level 7 a hunter ability.
Notes and trivia
- If Hunter's Mark is on cooldown when the target dies or the hunter leaves combat, it will immediately reset.
- Hunter's Mark appears in multiple other games. These appearances include:
- An Uncommon Hunter ability card in the World of Warcraft: Trading Card Game's Drums of War set. The flavor text reads: "'Ah, there you are...' —Sharpshooter Nally"
- A basic Hunter spell in Hearthstone. The flavor text reads: "Never play 'Hide and Go Seek' with a Hunter."
- Tyrande's activatable trait in Heroes of the Storm.
Patch changes
- Patch 10.2.0 (2023-11-07): Now increases all damage taken by the target by 5% while the target is above 80% maximum health. When applying Hunter's Mark out of combat or before a pull, it continues to have no cooldown. If you apply Hunter's Mark while in combat, Hunter's Mark receives a 20 second cooldown.
- Hotfix (2020-11-30): Now lasts 30 seconds instead of indefinitely when used against an enemy player.
- Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Now a level 7 ability available to all three specializations. Redesigned.
- Previous effect: Apply Hunter's Mark to the target, increasing all damage you deal to the marked target by 5%. If the target dies while affected by Hunter's Mark, you instantly gain 20 Focus. The target can always be seen and tracked by the Hunter. Only one Hunter's Mark can be applied at a time.

- Patch 5.4.0 (2013-09-10): Now has a duration of 20 seconds while in PvP combat (down from 30 seconds).
- Patch 5.2.0 (2013-03-05): [Arcane Shot], [Chimera Shot], [Kill Command], and [Explosive Shot] will automatically apply the Hunter's Mark.
- Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Now increases ranged damage done by 5% instead of increasing attack power.
- Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Now has no cost (was 2% of base mana).
- Patch 3.1.3 (2009-06-02): The ranged attack power bonus from this ability has been increased from 300 to 500.

- Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Hunter's Mark no longer adds additional attack power from ranged attacks. Received a new visual spell effect.
- Patch 2.2.0 (2007-09-25): The duration remaining graphic will now display properly for Hunter's Mark after it has been refreshed on a target, and will properly consume mana when recasting it to refresh its duration.
- Patch 2.1.0 (2007-05-22): This ability now becomes stronger each time the target is struck by a ranged attack.
- Patch 1.1.0 (2004-11-07):
- Facing requirement removed.
- Duration increased, dispels itself if the Hunter dies.
- Now flags you for PvP when used on enemy players.
