World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic is a server option for the 2010 expansion Cataclysm, announced on 3 November 2023 alongside The War Within. It entered closed beta on 7 March 2024[2] and released on May 20.[1]
Release
The content for Cataclysm Classic will be released in a series of phases much like previous Classics.[3]
Tentative content release dates:
- April 30, 2024 (pre-expansion patch):[1] Worgen & goblins, new race and class combinations, leveling updates in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, class updates, archaeology, improved guild features, account-wide collections, transmog, updated character and gear stats
- May 20, 2024 (launch):[1] Campaign story, 7 zones, 9 dungeons, Dungeon Journal, 3 raids, Flexible Raid lock system, Tol Barad PvP, Darkmoon Island, Flying in Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor
- July 30, 2024: Patch 4.1.0: Rise of the Zandalari
- October 29, 2024: Patch 4.2.0: Rage of the Firelands
- January 2025: Patch 4.3.0: Hour of Twilight
Planned and implemented changes
It has been announced that there will be changes from the original game. With some already noted:
- Smoother and accelerated leveling experience.
- New Dungeon Difficulty System after launch.
- Dungeon Group Finder improvements
- Account-wide mounts, pets, and transmogs
- Updated Auction House system
- Worgen can customize their human and worgen forms separately (which was not possible until Shadowlands)
- Void Storage, as well as the guild perks
[Cash Flow] and 
[Have Group, Will Travel], will not be implemented.[4]
