Demonic Fury was a unique Demonology warlock resource displayed in the user interface beneath the player's health and mana bars. It was available at level 10. It was capped at 1000. Demonic Fury was spent while using [Metamorphosis] or [Dark Apotheosis] to use certain abilities. Generating and consuming Demonic Fury was important to keep your DPS high as a Demonology warlock, as it enhanced your damage greatly by using your Metamorphosis-specific abilities. It could also increase your survivability by activating [Dark Apotheosis], the tank counterpart of Metamorphosis available only via glyph.
Demonic Fury worked similarly to other resources like Runic Power used by Death Knights, as it was generated by some abilities and consumed by others, it would also slowly decay if it was not consumed and no abilities were used. Something special about it was that it would not decay to a lower amount than 200. You could go lower than 200 Demonic Fury by consuming it with Metamorphosis etc., but after a short time it would go back to 200.
Many spells and even demon minion attacks generated Demonic Fury. The following spells generated these values:
- [Soul Fire]: +30
- [Shadow Bolt]: +25
- [Corruption]: +12 per tick
- [Drain Life]: +10 per second
- [Hand of Gul'dan]: +25 per target and +2 every time [Shadowflame] dealt damage
- [Fel Flame]: +15
- [Hellfire]: +3 per target
- [Wild Imps]: +5 per Firebolt
- [Demonic Slash] +60
Abilities that consumed Demonic Fury:
- [Metamorphosis] consumed 6 Demonic Fury every second while active
- [Dark Apotheosis] consumed 100 Demonic Fury to activate
- [Harvest Life] consumed Demonic Fury while Metamorphosis is active
- [Touch of Chaos]
- [Immolation Aura] consumes 30 Demonic Fury per second and is canceled when there is not enough
- [Carrion Swarm]
