Patch changes

  • Midnight Patch 12.0.0 (2025-01-20): Void Eruption renamed to Voidform to reduce confusion between the ability name and active effect. Tooltip updated to explain that it increases your spell damage by 10% for 20 seconds. Voidform no longer resets Mind Blast charges when cast. No longer a choice node with [Dark Ascension].
  • Dragonflight Patch 10.1.0 (2023-05-02): Dark Ascension and Void Eruption should now properly override the other on your Action Bar when swapping talents.
  • Dragonflight Patch 10.0.7 (2023-03-21): Fixed an issue causing Void Eruption to fire 4 missiles instead of 2.
  • Dragonflight Patch 10.0.2 (2022-11-15): Fixed an issue causing the cooldown to not reset when an encounter ends.
  • Dragonflight Hotfix (2022-11-01): Damage increased by 10%.
  • Dragonflight Patch 10.0.0 (2022-10-25): Now a row 5 Shadow talent (was a level 23 Shadow ability). Each 25 Insanity spent during Voidform now increases the duration of Voidform by 1.0 sec.
  • Shadowlands Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Now learned at level 23 (was 20). Void Eruption cast time reduced by 40% and no longer requires 90 Insanity to cast.
  • Battle for Azeroth Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Now hits all enemies within 10 yards of the enemy target, rather than enemies only affected by [Shadow Word: Pain] and [Vampiric Touch]. Now requires 90 Insanity to cast, down from 100 Insanity.
  • Legion Hotfix (2017-11-28):
    • No longer deals a separate damage event for each of your Shadow Word: Pain or Vampiric Touch on each target. Instead, it now deals a single damage event to all targets that have either your Shadow Word: Pain or Vampiric Touch.
    • Void Eruption damage increased by 700%.
    • Damage reduced by 60% in PvP situations.
  • Legion Hotfix (2017-09-06): Fixed a bug that made Void Eruption's Vampiric Touch missile display incorrectly.

  • Legion Patch 7.1.5 (2017-01-10): Void Eruption puts [Void Bolt] on cooldown for 1.5 seconds (was 3 seconds).
  • Legion Patch 7.1.0 (2016-10-25): Now learned at level 20 (was 10).
  • Legion Hotfix (2016-09-21): Casting Void Eruption with less than 7 seconds of Lingering Insanity no longer causes Voidform to immediately drop.
  • Legion Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Added.
