Aggralan, more commonly known as Aggra (pronounced "AW-gruh),[8] is a Mag'har orc shaman from Garadar in Nagrand. She was charged with training Thrall in the traditional shamanic arts and, despite initial disagreements, the two quickly bonded and began a romantic relationship, eventually becoming life-mates.
Biography
Aggra was born of a shattered world and learned the ways of the elements among the Mag'har orcs of Outland[9] and grew up in Nagrand.[10]
The Shattering
Shortly before the Cataclysm, Thrall journeyed to Garadar to discover why the elements of Azeroth were so afraid. When he arrived, Greatmother Geyah advised him to turn to the Mag'har Aggra, who told him that he had toed the line between being a leader and a shaman long enough and that he would have to give up his leadership to truly become a shaman. Aggra was Thrall's guide during a vision quest. Despite their rough beginnings, Thrall and Aggra grew closer to one another as he became truly connected with the spirits and became a proper shaman. Before returning to Azeroth Thrall and Aggra became mates.
When Thrall and Aggra returned to Azeroth, they participated in the funeral of Cairne Bloodhoof. The next day, she noticed that Thrall no longer wore the armor of Doomhammer, and she was satisfied. Both left Thunder Bluff and Mulgore and went to the goblin port town Ratchet where Gazlowe welcomed them and prepared a ship to the Maelstrom. The ship was called Draka's Fury in honor of all orcish women. Aggra was emotional and together with Thrall and a crew boarded the ship and left Kalimdor to the Maelstrom.[11] However, their journey would not be smooth as they had intended.[12]
Cataclysm
While en route to the Maelstrom Draka's Fury was attacked by Alliance forces and Thrall referred to as their "precious cargo" was lost. While Aggra commanded the shipwrecked crew of Draka's Fury on the Lost Isles she gained unexpected allies to the fight against Alliance. The Goblins of the Bilgewater Cartel, who were also attacked by the Alliance, and the Horde aided one another in combating the denizens of the Isles and the Alliance forces who had captured Thrall. After all, Thrall was freed and the goblin's joining the Horde, Aggra and Thrall successfully made it to the Maelstrom. She later appears at the Maelstrom (affiliated with the Earthen Ring) and sends adventurers into Deepholm.
During the battle with Deathwing in the nightmare caused by Iso'rath, Aggra tried to fight with Deathwing, though the Aspect ultimately killed her.
Twilight of the Aspects
When Thrall found himself unable to completely focus on healing the Maelstrom, Aggra tried to get him to touch with the Spirit of Life. When Thrall was asked by the green dragonflight for aid, Aggra encouraged him to go, even though felt that he belonged at the Maelstrom. While not physically with him, the thought of Aggra was enough to encourage Thrall to never give up during his quest. When Thrall returned to Maelstrom he told Aggra everything that had occurred and was prepared to rescue Azeroth with her as Go'el.[13]
Rage of the Firelands
At the Maelstrom, Thrall strains himself attempting to commune with the elements. Able to feel how broken the world is, and with the elements remaining silent for him, Thrall tells Aggra that he will have to work without limits to fulfill this task and she leaves him.
After the Guardians of Hyjal and adventurers thwart the invasion of Mount Hyjal by the Twilight's Hammer and Ragnaros, a meeting was convened at the ancient World Tree of Nordrassil. Thrall and Aggra were among the gathered heroes at the meeting that ended in tragedy when an incredibly powerful agent of the Twilight Hammer interrupted the ceremony and struck down Thrall with dark magic, casting his spirit into the four domains of the Elemental Plane. While the Aspects conceded that Thrall may be lost to the elements forever, Aggra believed that her mate could be saved, and called on the aid of adventurers of both the Horde and the Alliance to venture into the Skywall, the Abyssal Maw, Deepholm, and Firelands to rescue her beloved from an eternity of torment. Before adventurers can return Thrall's spirit to the natural world, they must help him overcome his doubts, his willfulness, his desires, and his rage before he is bound to his elemental cage.[14]
Thanks to the efforts of Aggra and the adventurers, Thrall was restored. Soon afterward, she and Thrall married with notable figures in attendance.
Fall of the Destroyer
When the Dragon Aspects were planning how to defeat the Destroyer, Thrall was spiritually tortured by Deathwing. Aggra found his body and stayed by his side until he was freed.[15]
After the defeat of Deathwing by the hands of the Dragon Aspects, Thrall and the adventurers, Alexstrasza revealed that Aggra was bearing Thrall's child.[16]
Tides of War
When Aggra learned about the fall of Theramore, she understood Thrall's pain when it was believed that Jaina Proudmoore had been killed. When her husband received a vision of an unknown figure going to use enslaved water elements to destroy Orgrimmar, Aggra wished to accompany him.[17] She was later convinced that since Thrall received the vision alone, then he must go alone. While resigned to this, she understood and wished him luck.[18]
Landfall
At some point, she and Thrall journeyed to The Den in Durotar and while caring for the infant Durak, Thrall was approached by Horde heroes. After learning that Vol'jin was hurt and that the Darkspear may be trouble, Thrall left to help the trolls on the Echo Isles. Aggra wished him good luck as she cared for their son.[19]
War Crimes
Aggra and Durak accompanied Go'el to the trial of Garrosh Hellscream. She was said to be pregnant again. She was wary of Tyrande's first witness being Velen and grew outraged when she prevented Velen from speaking his heart. When the Dragonmaw attacked to ensure Hellscream's freedom, a group of their pirate allies attacked her. In response, Aggra slew them effortlessly, while protecting her son. She then reunited with her mate and immediately went to heal the wounded Jaina Proudmoore.[20]
Warlords of Draenor

During the war in Draenor, Aggra initially stayed behind on Azeroth to take care of her children. Despite this, however, she later arrived at Wor'var in Nagrand together with Thrall and Draka.
When Telaar fell, she sent shadow hunters led by Shadow Hunter Kajassa to check in on the situation.[21]
Later still, she could be found alongside Durotan during the attack on Grommashar and alongside Thrall at the Stones of Prophecy after Garrosh Hellscream's death.
Legion
During the third invasion of the Burning Legion, while Thrall left on an introspective journey after Garrosh Hellscream's death, Aggra stayed at the Heart of Azeroth with Thrall's wolf Snowsong and Snowsong's pup, Snowfang; serving the new Farseer of the Earthen Ring.[22]
Battle for Azeroth
By the time of the Fourth War, Aggra returned to Nagrand with Thrall and her children, living in a hut near Oshu'gun.[23] They remained there when Thrall returned to Orgrimmar and became a member of the Horde Council. While teaching her children to weave, she made a red cloak, which Thrall took to Orgrimmar.[24]
Shadowlands
Though her family had a happy life in Nagrand, she understood the need to return for the sake of the Horde and Varok Saurfang. However, in time Sylvanas's forces took them by surprise and despite fighting fiercely it was not enough, and Thrall was taken. Soon after Aggra joined the Horde Council in convening atop of Grommash Hold following return of the Scourge and learned that Baine Bloodhoof, Jaina Proudmoore and Anduin Wrynn had been abducted as well and how Tyrande Whisperwind had neutralized her attackers.[25] Knowing that Thrall would want her to remain behind and safeguard their children, she encouraged Horde champions with finding and bringing them home.
She later received word from Calia Menethil, who gone to Oribos within the Shadowlands, of her husband's recovery.[26]
The Vow Eternal
Aggra and her family were among those who attended the wedding of Lor'themar Theron and Thalyssra.[27]
Dragonflight

As Aggra and her family were visiting Drek'Thar, they were unexpectedly joined by Eitrigg and orc champions who had arrived to recruit Drek'Thar in their mission to bring back the Kosh'harg festival. While Drek'Thar was quick to join in agreement about the festival, Aggra declared that they should offer more than just a return of the festival, that they should create a new rite of passage, one that teaches not just of the hunt, but what it means to be an orc, an om'gora - a rite of honor. The others quickly agreed and Aggra offered no objections when Eitrigg declared that the champion should be the first to complete the om'gora.
After Drek'Thar declared that his old bones wouldn't make it to Kalimdor, he instructed Aggra to preside over the Kosh'harg, and promoted her to Farseer, while remarking it was a title long overdue. For her part, Aggra was deeply honored.[28] As Thrall and Eitrigg gathered the clans for the festival, Aggra revealed that it was to be held within Razor Hill, and invited the champion to either guide her children to the town or simply meet them within, while declaring that it was her task to make sure the om'gora provided a worthy challenge for them. As the om'gora started, she declared that it was to be a rite of honor, earned by three blessings: of the clan, of the land, and of the ancestors. She further stated that when all three had been earned, the champion would understand what it meant to be an orc.[29] She subsequently issued each rite, from aiding the Owa'nohe (the spirit of Thunder Ridge), to honoring the ancestors by crafting a worthy offering, and with joining one of the orc clans at the Kosh'harg, in order to move forward and prove their own strength and worth to the living orcs. In the last regard, Aggra and the clan chieftains decided that the blessing of the clans would take inspiration from the om'riggor.[30]
Once all three blessings had been acquired, Aggra declared that the champion had successfully completed the om'gora, and that the time had come to celebrate. As the orcs feasted in the champion's honor, Aggra encouraged them to revel in the glory they had earned and to put any of the orcs who got out of line in their place, as a reminder as to why they had completed the new rite first. As she feasted with her family, she would privately remark to the champion that Eitrigg's faith was not misplaced and that the champion had made fans out of both of her children.[31]
Soon after, Aggra performed the ceremony to bring the Kosh'harg to a close.[32]
Trials
While conversing with Thrall, Aggra learned that despite seeking peace, Thrall sometimes feared a world free from war. He wondered the effects of a peaceful world would have on their children, if they would be able to understand why they fought and recognize injustice, evil, and cruelty when they see it. Recalling Varok Saurfang words on not forsaking honor, Aggra questioned if Thrall simply yearned for their younglings to claim honor in a just battle. Thrall agreed, although noted that it should be something with an equally high cost. After reflecting on the cost of war and the loss of old friends like Cairne Bloodhoof and Vol'jin, he admitted that as he leads alongside their successors, he worries over how to prepare his own.
In response, Aggra declared that the Horde would grow stronger for his wisdom, of those who have made their mark upon him, and that he would lead their people to greater heights, as he had helped mold their children. Thus she declared she knew that Durak was ready for the om’gora. However, Thrall was apprehensive, but Aggra warned that while Durak heeded their words, other orcs had gone their rites without their parents' blessing and they couldn't always protect him. She then directed him to speak with their daughter, as she had questions about the om'gora. Thus Thrall walked Amarehz through the different steps of the om'gora and how they were meant to teach orcs about their culture's virtues and their place in the world.
However, as they conversed Amarehz made a shocking confession, driven by vengeance and wanting to prove himself worthy of the om'gora, Durak had set off to kill Trigore the Lasher. A horrified Thrall, informed Aggra, who sent off towards the Wailing Caverns hoping to save her son. However, to their pleasant shock, the group discovered that Durak had been victorious. As she helped tend to Durak's wounds, Aggra threatened to hit him upside the head with an axe handle to knock some common sense into him. Aggra and Thrall also agreed to discuss letting their son do the rest of the om'gora.[33]
Heartlands

Ten days after the destruction of Dalaran, Aggra was amongst the Horde leaders that answered Jaina and Thrall's joint meeting in Boralus, where they helped organize the strike force that they could take to Khaz Algar. When Danath proposed securing the 7th Legion and the Kor'kron, which had been deployed to the Arathi Highlands, Aggra declared that his niece Marran was stroking tensions with the Mag'har, who called upon the Kor'kron to help them train and deter action from Stromgarde. However, Danath defended his regent and maintained that the 7th Legion was there to help them as they recovered from the Fourth War. While Danath returned to Turalyon's court, Jaina, Thrall, and Aggra journeyed to the Arathi Highlands.[34]
Upon their arrival, they discovered the fallen bodies of a skirmish between the Horde and Alliance, while Aggra journeyed to Hammerfall to stay Geya'rah's hand.[35] In time, an injured and poisoned Thrall was delivered to Hammerfall by the Kor'kron, where he was healed by the Lok'osh and awoke a few hours later. Though grateful for his recovery, Aggra was disappointed to report that she had no luck with Geya'rah.[36]
After receiving word that the Alliance were attacking the Go'Shek Farm, Geya'rah gave the order for battle. Both Aggra and Eitrigg revealed that the Kor'kron would stand down if Thrall gave the order. However, Thrall refused as he felt countering Geya'rah's command would only sow chaos on the field and he sought to sway her instead. Thus he took to the battlefield to rendezvous with her, while Aggra was able to recruit the elementals to aid in reducing the fighting.[37]
Having come to see the battle upon the Go'Shek Farm as one without honor, Geya'rah sounded a horn and called for the Kor'kron and Mag'har to hold and called upon the 7th Legion and Stromic army to do the same. The Alliance followed suit and when Marran protested, she found herself arrested by Danath Trollbane himself, who formally apologized for her actions. With the Kor'kron and 7th Legion now united, Aggra noted that Thrall had his strike force and questioned why Thrall was troubled. In truth, Thrall couldn't help but be concerned with how while Marran was under arrest, her loyalists like Zatacia still stood at large, and could only trust that Danath's loyalists would be successful in dealing with them.[38]
Seasons
Aggra spent Winter Veil with her family and Geya'rah.[39]

Notes and trivia
- In Tides of War, Thrall tells Jaina Proudmoore that Aggra was born and raised on Draenor.[40] However,
[10-45] Aggra's Guidance describes her as having been "born of a shattered world", implying that she wasn't born until after Draenor became Outland.
- She has praised the Earth Mother on at least two occasions.[41][42]
- In The Shattering: Prelude to Cataclysm, Aggra is described as having originally had long hair before later shaving it and adopting a ponytail.[43]
- Thrall and Aggra briefly appear in
[30-35] Gods and Monsters, a story told by Lorewalker Cho.
- Aggra is voiced by Athena Karkanis.
- Prior to Aggra's introduction, Chris Metzen had considered making Garona Halforcen Thrall's love interest and the mother of his children.[44]
- Aggra was originally planned to stay behind on Azeroth during Warlords of Draenor, with Chris Metzen stating at BlizzCon 2013 that "the honeymoon is over, it's more of a boy's trip".[45] However, she was later added to the alternate Nagrand alongside Thrall. Her dialogue in Wor'var appears to be a reference to this.

The description in
[10-45] Aggra's Guidance implies that Aggra was born after Draenor's transformation into Outland. If so, this means that she is currently in her mid-twenties or younger. She would have been approximately 20 or less when she first met Thrall in The Shattering.
