Darkspear Isle (or the Echo Isle)[2] is the largest island of the Echo Isles.
History
Following the death of the traitorous witch doctor Zalazane, the Darkspear jungle trolls rebuilt their home, and converted the largest isle of the Echo Isles into Darkspear Isle. Ever since, Vol'jin and his tribe have worked tirelessly to fortify their home on Darkspear Isle. Covered in a network of huts and bridges, this jungle island has become a symbol of the tribe's glory, albeit at a time the trolls' destiny remained uncertain due to political tensions between Vol'jin and then Warchief Garrosh Hellscream. Regardless, the Darkspear tribe has vowed to stand firm and face whatever challenges lie ahead. The island consists of the training grounds, the Darkspear Hold, and a shore.
After Vol'jin's assassination attempt on Pandaria, Darkspear Isle was attacked by the Kor'kron sent by Garrosh. It was liberated by Thrall and the Horde adventurer.
During the Fourth War, it was attacked by the troll lich Zalazane and his undead minions who overran the place and killed many of its animals. It was defended by members of the Darkspear tribe.
Dragonflight
After discovering that members of the Darkspear tribe had taken to worshipping Mueh'zala, Bwonsamdi arrived to the Echo Isles and called upon Rokhan to fix the matter. In response, Rokhan decided that they needed to balance the Darkspear by getting their old loa back.[3] When Rokhan and Darkspear champions returned Kevo ya Siti and Lukou, Rokhan called upon Witch Doctor Tzadah to start the trials. However, to the shock of the Darkspear, it was none other than Tzadah who had turned to Mueh'zala.[4]
As Mueh'zala's forces invaded the Echo Isles and turned Darkspear Isle into a battleground, Rokhan, the loa, and Darkspear champions fought to liberate the tribe from Mueh'zhala's dark influence.[5][6] After a fierce battle, Rokhan personally killed Tzadah, ending the dark loa's influence over the isle.[7]
