Bloodhoof Village is a tauren settlement named in honor[2] of the Bloodhoof tribe,[3] located in central Mulgore, around the waters of Stonebull Lake.
This is the first settlement in which young tauren adventurers arrive after departing from Camp Narache to the south. Located in the central plains of Mulgore, the village is the hub of questing and commerce until adventurers depart for Thunder Bluff to the north. Bloodhoof Village is also the principal location in which the wild kodo beasts are tamed and sold as mounts for the tauren.
Baine Bloodhoof is the leader of the village and oversaw its protection from threats, and later took command in Thunder Bluff as High Chieftain of the tauren tribes.[1] While Baine focused on more day-to-day matters, the spiritual needs of the Bloodhoof tribe and young tauren passing through are catered to by Zarlman Two-Moons.[4]
Shortly before the Cataclysm, right after Cairne Bloodhoof died in Orgrimmar, Grimtotem assassins tried to kill his son Baine but failed.[5]
During the Fourth War, the village was invaded by ghosts. The attack was repelled by a tauren champion.[6]

In the RPG
Bloodhoof Village is located in the Golden Plains of Mulgore. Lake Stonebull partially encircles the village. Here Baine Bloodhoof, son of Cairne Bloodhoof, leads an investigation into Venture Company operations to the east and a campaign against the Palemane gnolls to the west.[7][8]
Notes
- The village is known for its drummaking. Drums made here are unlike any others. Zekhan spent some time here, enjoying watching the creation process of Tihku Fogcaller.[2]
- The former brave Otue lives in the village.[9]
- In Cataclysm, Baine was replaced by Ahmo Thunderhorn as quest giver. However, the Ultimate Visual Guides still list Baine as the leader of the village.[1] Exploring Azeroth: Kalimdor reinforces UVG's information by stating that Baine leads from his seat in Bloodhoof Village, following the footsteps of his father.[2]
- This area was planned to be available in the Southern Barrens warfront.
