“We will stand by you, Exarch. No demon will set foot in Auchindoun on my watch.”

Lady Liadrin to Exarch Maladaar[1]

The Sunsworn are a military force of blood elves deployed during the conflict in alternate Draenor. Headed by Lady Liadrin, their forces were made up of Blood Knights, Farstriders and Magisters based in Talador. They also deployed the blood elves' recently-acquired blood golem technology. The Sunsworn served as the Horde equivalent of the Auchenai allied to the Alliance.

History

During the war in Draenor in 31 ADP, after disposing of the Iron Horde forces with the aid of Legion agents, Teron'gor and his Shadow Council servitors besieged Auchindoun in order to seize the sacred draenei precinct—where the souls of departed draenei rest—for their own twisted ends. Noticing the demonic corruption, Lady Liadrin and the Sunsworn rushed to its aid, pledging to join forces with the Auchenai in defending Auchindoun and Shattrath City from the Legion.[2]

Magister Astalor Bloodsworn was in charge of the animus golems, empowering them with blood magic to support their forces. He also brought his apprentice, Kaelynara Sunchaser, but an unspecified incident caused him to deem her incompetent, suspend her as his apprentice, and send her back to Azeroth. She instead chose to take over the Jorune Mine to absorb the great magical power there, until Archmage Elandra of the Kirin Tor and Manduil Skycaller of the Sunsworn both arrived to stop her;[3] the latter especially to ensure her actions didn't cost the Sunsworn the trust of the Auchenai.[4]

Though unable to stop Teron'gor, the Sunsworn aided in the death of the pit lord Mongrethod,[5] and Liadrin directly fought in the liberation of Shattrath from Socrethar.[6] After Gul'dan's takeover of the Iron Horde, Liadrin and her Blood Knights sought for a way to cure the fel orcs,[7] and later clashed with Teron'gor, who had continued devouring souls up until he was recovered by Tyrant Velhari. The orc, now calling himself Gorefiend, was eventually cut off from his feast and forced to retreat to Hellfire Citadel.[8]

Following the defeat of Archimonde, it is unknown if the Sunsworn are still active, having not been mentioned since the end of their campaign in alternate Draenor.
