The Theramore Guard[2][3] was the military that guarded Theramore Isle. They were among the finest groups of Alliance soldiers based in Kalimdor, and it was their duty to uphold the laws of the Alliance.[4]
With footmen numbering in the hundreds,[5] Theramore's military additionally counted its own navy, and also made use of airships rented from the goblins,[6] cannons, ballistae, and siege engines.
History
Invasion of Durotar
Following the Battle of Mount Hyjal in 21 ADP, the Theramore Guard was formed through the remnants of the Human Expedition led by Lady Jaina Proudmoore, including troops from the Lordaeron Brigade, Lordaeron Corps, Stromgarde Brigade, Kul Tiras Elite Corps, and the Gilneas Brigade.
During the occupation of Theramore Isle by Lord Admiral Daelin Proudmoore's Kul Tiran forces, the Theramore Guard was forced into service and fought against the Horde attackers.[2] After Daelin's death, Northwatch Hold in the Southern Barrens was retaken by the Theramore Guard, and soon became once again an essential part of their defenses. Lady Jaina wasn't pleased by the Hold's continued presence but was under considerable pressure to keep it manned despite her stance on war and her personal friendship with Warchief Thrall.[7]

Cycle of Hatred
In Year 24 ADP, the Theramore Guard was on high alert when the actions of the Burning Blade cult pit the nations of Theramore and Durotar against each other. Theramore's military investigated the activities of the cult, and Chamberlain Kristoff sent more than twenty boats and than four hundred soldiers to reinforce Northwatch Hold,[5] including the city's Elite Guard.[8] They all clashed against Burx's own orcish army at Northwatch.
World of Warcraft
By Year 25 ADP, the Theramore Guard was known for the exceptional training of its warriors,[9] and counted many marines among its ranks. Adjutant Tesoran kept track of all the records for the Guard, from personnel to their equipment.[10] Some of the guards were assigned to guard the passengers of the Lady Mehley, the boat traveling between Theramore and Menethil Harbor.[11] Though it was a struggle to maintain these outposts in the swamps, the Guard also occupied several defensive watchtowers through Dustwallow Marsh, even if they had to abandon Lost Point.[12]
At the beginning of every month, the marines from Kul Tiras all got paid and would usually leave Theramore for somewhere else. A lot of them came to Menethil Harbor to womanize, carouse, and just have a good time.[1]
The Theramore Guard was still seeking the exact location of the ogre settlement of Brackenwall, its infiltrators doing their best to find it.[13] Unhappy with the way their city-state was led, several guards also deserted the organization; they stayed behind in town to agitate the local population with propaganda denouncing Lady Jaina Proudmoore and encouraging more Theramore guards to join them.
The Comic
During the second Scourge Invasion in 27 ADP, the Scourge attacked Theramore Isle, which was successfully defended by Theramore's defenders. After Lady Jaina destroyed the necropolis, an Herald of the Lich King mocked her to come to Northrend, as they did for the Alliance and the Horde. Following the battle, a lot of fighters were wounded, including Sven.[14]
Cataclysm
Prior to the Cataclysm in 28 ADP, the Alliance launched its Northwatch Expeditionary Unit toward most of the Horde territories in Kalimdor. This expeditionary unit used the tabard and flag of Theramore.
Mists of Pandaria
During the Attack on Theramore Isle in 30 ADP, the Theramore Guard was wiped out when Warchief Garrosh Hellscream destroyed the city with a mana bomb.[15]
