Vorquin
The vorquin are quadrupedal dragonkin native to the Dragon Isles. They serve as the racial mounts of the dracthyr and are respected for their resilience in battle, even against dragonfire.[1] The more powerful armored vorquin are trained using ancient dracthyr methods and embody the pinnacle of tactical mounted ground warfare.[2]
Vorquin apparently feign death. Norukk learned to do so by studying the vorquin of the Azure Span.[3]

Notes and trivia
[Coal-Fired Rib Rack] is made from vorquin.
- The vorquin are based on the qilin (麒麟), a Chinese mythical creature that resembles a hybrid between a dragon and a horse or stag and is often colloquially called a "Chinese unicorn" in the west. The vorquin model is internally named "kirin", which is the Japanese and Korean name for the qilin. They are the second Warcraft creature to be based on the qilin after the windsteed, or third if cloudstriders are counted (cloudstriders were called "kirin" and used windsteed models during development). The similarly-named quilen bear little resemblance to the mythological qilin and are instead based on Chinese guardian lions.
- The vorquin model originally looked slightly different during the Dragonflight beta, with lighter horn textures, longer ears, and different snout and eye textures.[4]

- ^ WoW Petopia on Twitter (2022-09-22). “Overall, I really like the change. The eyes look more realistic and the face a bit less pinched. The horn shading means the skins look a bit less basic 2-tone. The new nose bump looks a little odd / low-poly, but all in all a significant improvement!”
