The Storm's Wake is a faction operating in Stormsong Valley in Kul Tiras, and mainly based from the town of Brennadam. It is composed of militiamen, farmers, tidesages and other inhabitants of Stormsong Valley. When Lord Stormsong fell to corruption at the hands of Queen Azshara, the Storm's Wake fought to protect the people and rose against Stormsong. Led by Captain Ara, an army of them almost rebuked the Horde expedition of Warfang Hold, using a strange object to summon giant sea tentacles and destroy their fleet.[1] The battle would have ended in their victory, but The Banshee's Wail arrived just in time to destroy the humans.[2]

The Storm's Wake later assisted to the ceremony when Jaina Proudmoore was made Lord Admiral of Kul Tiras, and now stand with the Alliance.

Members of the Storm's Wake are said to be "Awakened".

Trivia

  • The Storm's Wake use the same banner as the one of House Stormsong, as seen in Unity Square in Boralus.
  • This faction was initially named House Stormsong during early alpha.
  • The Storm's Wake acts very uncharacteristically during the Horde's Stormsong Valley foothold quests. They are able to gather a large army against the Horde, uses dark magic to summon sea beasts against them, show cruelty against animals and are led by an officer hiding her face behind a malevolent-looking mask while saying things like "He who lurks below shall wear your skin as his cloak". This points to them working for House Stormsong, maybe showing that these events are happening before the split between Wake and Stormsong. Even the Horde soldiers noted how abnormal they acted.[3]
