Kirthaven is a Wildhammer village located in the northeastern part of the Twilight Highlands, in the slopes of Mount Thunderstrike. It is a major spiritual center for the Wildhammer dwarves, and the home of their Grand Shaman. It is the only place where the varied clans can come together in peace.[1]
The village features typical Wildhammer architecture, with stone houses chiseled into the ground itself. Most of these are clustered around a central square with a fountain. The village also has an aviary area with the flight master, roosts and many hatchlings frolicking around. The Wildhammer honor their dead heroes here before burying them with their gryphons atop Mount Thunderstrike.[1]
Although the surrounding region of Northeron was devastated by the Cataclysm, Kirthaven survived intact.[2] Grand Shaman Lachlan MacGraff hosted an unsuccessful summit between the various Highlands clans here.[3] The situation was finally resolved with the wedding of Keegan Firebeard and Fanny Thundermar, bringing their clans together again.[4]
