Chillwind Camp is an Alliance encampment in the Western Plaguelands. It is located in the south, at the entrance to the Plaguelands from Chillwind Point in the Alterac Mountains.
History
The Ashbringer
Following the Third War, Chillwind Point (or just Chillwind), was a base camp of the Argent Dawn under the command of Lord Maxwell Tyrosus. After he was recruited, Darion Mograine traveled to the encampment and asked for volunteers to infiltrate Naxxramas and free the soul of his father. Once the group was composed and ready, they left the area on their gryphons.[1]
World of Warcraft
A few years later, the small camp was still maintained by a small contingent of the Argent Dawn, and acted as the last bastion of safety for Alliance travelers approaching the Western Plaguelands. Only having a few troops and specialists, the Argent Dawn had begun their first assaults against the Scourge in the area and mainly relied on mercenaries, carrying out attacks and strategic guerrilla warfare against the undead base of Andorhal and the diabolical Plague Cauldrons.
Promising young Knights of the Silver Hand were sent here by Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker to assist Commander Ashlam Valorfist against the endless undead of the Scourge present in the region.[2]
Legends: The Journey

By the time of the invasion of Outland, one hundred mercenaries and the troops of the Argent Dawn chosen by Argent Officer Pureheart gathered at the camp for the Retaking of Andorhal, believing that they would win with a big strategy and convinced by a great quantity of money from the nobleman Maddox. However, all of them were later killed in battle by the undead.[3]
Cataclysm
After the Cataclysm, the ruined house was completely rebuilt into an inn with a mailbox. Weldon Barov also relocated to the Scholomance, still determined to reclaim his family fortune.
Following the Alliance's defeat during the Battle for Andorhal, Commander Ashlam Valorfist mentioned that Chillwind would likely be the Forsaken's next target.[4]

Getting there
From Southshore take the path north and turn east at the crossroads. When the road crosses a river, turn north following the river on its west bank. Keep following the river into the mountains. At a certain point, there is a gap in the mountains. Cut west there to find the path that leads north to Chillwind Camp.
Phasing
Initially, a group of farmers is present.
After starting [15-30] Ambushed!, the farmers are gone.
Notes
- It is the first Argent Dawn establishment most Alliance characters will see. The Horde counterpart is the Bulwark in Tirisfal Glades on the border with the Western Plaguelands.
- The quests here include the one for a key to Scholomance.
- Sometimes called, or confused with, Chillwind Point.[5]

Given the proximity to Andorhal, the original building of the camp could be considered a part of the King's Road.
