The Azuremyst Isles,[2] also known as Nar'valas ("View of Unending Stars" in Darnassian),[3] are a group of islands located in the Veiled Sea, off the coast of northwestern Kalimdor.
Before the War of the Ancients in 10,000 BDP, this piece of the western edge of ancient Kalimdor was a mountainous forest, which was mostly untamed by the ancient Kaldorei Empire. According to draenei historians, it was left unsettled on purpose so that hungry beasts could feed off the land and hunters could trap the choicest prey.[3] Despite being untamed, it was part of the elven empire, as ruins of one of their cities can be found at Wrathscale Point.[4] When the Great Sundering rent the world, Azuremyst split off and trapped all life here with it, forcing the plants and animals to slowly adapt to survive the harsh new environment.[3]
Prior to the invasion of Outland in 26 ADP, the arrival of the draenei on Azeroth caused chaos in the area.[3] Their dimensional ship, the Exodar - a satellite of Tempest Keep - crash-landed on Azuremyst Isle and scattered crystals from its superstructure throughout the island chain, causing severe damage to its ecosystems and angering the elemental spirits.[5] Many creatures of the isles have since mutated from the radiation, and some even have become hostile and grown unnatural in size on Bloodmyst Isle.[6] The draenei are still unable to clear away the toxic blight to this day.[3]
Geography
Azuremyst Isle
- Main article: Azuremyst Isle
Azuremyst Isle is the southwestern of the two islands, and forms the starting zone to the playable draenei race. The crash-landed naaru vessel Exodar can be found on the western coast of the island and currently serves as the capital of the draenei on Azeroth. The island itself is divided into two parts by a river running north-south, the eastern and slightly smaller region dubbed Ammen Vale, as it is sheltered by hills on all sides. To the south lies Silvermyst Isle, close enough to reach by swimming without difficulty, and small enough to be considered part of the main island. Azuremyst Isle contains no dungeons, raid dungeons, micro dungeons, or battlegrounds. It is the starting area for the draenei and contains a 1-5 leveling area, Ammen Vale. The draenei city, the Exodar, can also be found in this zone with a flight path to Bloodmyst Isle. The only access to the remainder of Kalimdor is by boat to Rut'theran Village at the southern edge of Teldrassil.
Bloodmyst Isle
- Main article: Bloodmyst Isle
Bloodmyst Isle, named as Silvergale by the draenei before they saw the full damage,[3] is the northern of the two major isles of the Azuremyst Isles. Bloodmyst is often the next step in the journey for ambitious young draenei. The island is divided into two sections by a narrow strip of water. The smaller section, which is connected by a bridge to Azuremyst Isle, is yet untainted by the red mist that covers the main part of the island. There are no instanced dungeons or battlegrounds on Bloodmyst Isle. The micro dungeon, the Vector Coil, can be found here. Blood Watch serves as the zone's travel hub, connecting it to Azuremyst Isle.

Notes
- Rexxar explained several times to Zekhan the changed state of the isles after the Exodar crashed,[3] meaning he may have visited the area at some point.
