A fire ammonite is a magical "fish" that lives in lava and looks like a squid in a cone shaped shell. They are found in lava pools across Draenor (mainly in Frostfire Ridge) and resemble the extinct ammonites of Azeroth.

Frostfire fruit is lethal to most humanoids, but is the favorite food of the fire ammonite. Oil made from the flesh of the fire ammonite burns away infection without damage to the host.
