This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.

Although helhounds were initially only seen in Helheim during World of Warcraft: Legion, their presence in the Shadowlands likely means that they originate there and were only introduced to Helheim through Helya's knowledge of the Shadowlands and/or her alliance with the Jailer.
