The Searing Blade was a demonic cult affiliated to the Shadow Council which, along with its sister group the Burning Blade clan, attempted to usurp Warchief Thrall's power over the New Horde. The organization had taken up residence in Ragefire Chasm, a network of caverns beneath Orgrimmar, secretly attempting to subvert innocent members of the Horde. They have since been annihilated by the Horde adventurers.
History
World of Warcraft
By the Year 25 ADP, most Searing Blade acolytes thought they were becoming the next rising group of powerful warlocks, which would replace the Shadow Council. However, except for these leaders, the troops were expendable. The goal was, in reality, twofold: kill Warchief Thrall's faithful and test the strength of those in the Searing Blade to see if they are truly worthy of joining the Shadow Council.[1] Under the order of Thrall, Neeru Fireblade sent adventurers to slay their Felguard leader, Taragaman the Hungerer, in an attempt to remove the cult threat in Ragefire Chasm.[2]
Thanks to the adventurers' acquisition of a Lieutenant's Insignia, Thrall was able to infiltrate the organization[3] and identify the leaders they needed to kill, including the satyr Bazzalan, the orc warlock Jergosh the Invoker, and the felguard Taragaman the Hungerer.[4] The destruction of the group,[5] however, had a minimal effect on the rest of the Shadow Council.[6]
Cataclysm
Following the Cataclysm in 28 ADP, the Searing Blade allied themselves with the Ragefire troggs, planning to launch a full-scale attack on Orgrimmar.[7] Rather than infiltration, the conflict became head-on with Orgrimmar Defenders entering the Ragefire Chasm, where Stone Guard Kurjack ordered to kill anyone placed under the sign of the Searing Blade.[8] With their Searing Bindings, the Searing Blade Warlocks managed to enslave Ragefire Chasm's elemental spirits in order to destroy the city. Their plans were ultimately halted when the Horde adventurers entered the chasm, annihilated the cult forces and leadership, and allowed the molten elementals to rest once more.[9]
Mists of Pandaria
In Year 30 ADP, the Dark Shaman took control of the Ragefire Chasm as part of the True Horde,[10] confirming that the Searing Blade had been annihilated.
Legion
During the third invasion of the Burning Legion in 32 ADP, Gul'dan called upon the surviving leaders of the Shadow Council's sects. Among them, Jergosh the Invoker, having survived his prior encounter with the Horde heroes in Ragefire Chasm years ago, was sent to Caer Darrow with Braelyn Firehand, in order to retrieve the Book of Medivh from the Cult of the Damned. After obtaining it, he and Braelyn were killed by the infiltrated Netherlord of the Council of the Black Harvest.[11]

During the Founding of Durotar, a cult of orcish warlocks still loyal to the Burning Legion killed Morg Wolfsong and stole his shamanic artifacts before Rexxar disposed of them.[12] They may have been from the Searing Blade.
