The Shadowsworn[2] (also spelled the shadowsworn)[3] was a cult of demon worshipers in the Blasted Lands. Under the leadership of Archmage Allistarj and Lady Sevine, the organization had control over one of the remaining Altar of Storms left in Azeroth, as well as Serpent's Coil, a large cave system found in the northeastern area of the Blasted Lands. They were formed by uniting various sects of the Shadow Council with the Dreadmaul tribe of ogres under the command of Razelikh the Defiler.[1]
As of the Ironmarch invasion and the Burning Legion's third invasion, there are no Shadowsworn members present in the Blasted Lands, implying their defeat against the adventurers.
Background
World of Warcraft
By the Year 25 ADP, the nathrezim Razelikh the Defiler had united various sects of the Shadow Council, along with the Dreadmaul ogres, to form the Shadowsworn.[1] In exchange for their servitude, Razelikh granted nearly unlimited power to its leaders, including Lady Sevine, Archmage Allistarj, and Grol the Destroyer. Each of them received a third of an amulet, which was needed to summon the nathrezim on Azeroth. The amulet pieces were each attuned to the lifeforce of their owner, granting them immortality as long as they remained within the Blasted Lands. While they couldn't be slain and their life spans extended until the end of days, however, the price was also imprisonment and eternal servitude, tainting their minds to only serve and protect the demon.[1]
At some point, Lady Sevine built the Altar of Storms in the region.[4]
There was only one way to harm the demon and his minions, a weapon of power forged to bear his true name: Rakh'likh. Once it was forged with the help of Galvan the Ancient and the demon hunter Loramus,[5] the adventurers used it to defeat the cult's leaders and claimed their shards of the amulet in order to reform the Ward of the Defiler.[6] At the Rise of the Defiler, the heroes managed to kill the dreadlord, sending him back to the Twisting Nether while one of his horns was used to the destroy the amulet.[7]
Cataclysm
After the Cataclysm in 28 ADP, though his servants were slain, Razelikh the Defiler planned to return to the Blasted Lands with the help of the Shadowsworn cultists,[8] planning to overwhelm Azeroth with his legions of demons.[9] The demon hunter Loramus sought to put an end to Razelikh but was slain by Grol the Destroyer, one of Razelikh's fallen servants.[10][11] With the help of Bloodmage Lynnore or Kasim Sharim, adventurers later revived and empowered Loramus,[12] and the two united to battle against Razelikh.[13][14] During the fight, Loramus sacrificed his own life in order to help trap Razelikh's soul, claiming he would battle Razelikh in the next world.[15]

Notes
- As of patch 2.0.5, the blood elves' and high elves' models were changed. Oddly, the high elves in the Shadowsworn cult were unchanged. With the removal of the high elves from revamped Scholomance, they and the ghost high elves in Ghostlands are the few last remaining high elves that use that model.
