Jenit Ratchetrouter is a mechagnome warrior who has taken to travelling the world since Mechagon joined the Alliance.
Biography
Born in Mechagon City, Jenit is the only child of Ernulph Ratchetrouter, a master craftsman who specialized in armor and weapons. She grew up on tales of the legends of Gnomeregan, the long-ago home city of the gnomes, though she believed them to be only myth, and that their people on Mechagon were the only gnomes left in the world.
Though he believed in the superiority of the "upgrades" he and his people received, Ernulph felt that King Mechagon had gone mad in his desire to "restore" the work of the Titans, and sided with Prince Erazmin against him. Jenit followed her father without hesitation, joining the Prince at his new base in Rustbolt and fighting against Mechagon's loyalists. Legend became reality as the gnomes of Gnomeregan arrived to offer aid to Erazmin's resistance forces, aided by the "Alliance" they belonged to; they were also supported by the Alliance's erstwhile enemies, the Horde. During the war, she paired with Captain Englebert Blunderwitz, an officer in Gnomeregan's army. When King Mechagon was defeated, she watched with pride as Gnomeregan and Mechagon reunited under the leadership of Gelbin Mekkatorque.
Since Mechagon's inclusion in the Alliance, Jenit has wandered the world, seeking to take in the sights and meet new people. Among the first places she made it a point to visit was Gnomeregan, or at least the "New Tinkertown" encampment above the irradiated city, learning of its fate. She saw why the gnomes were so keen to fight against King Mechagon, having fought and defeated their own mad tyrant in the past. The experience left her with the hope that one day she, too, could help fight against such injustice.
