“The dracthyr did not ask to be shackled and lost, Zulimbasha. Ancient though they may be, they are children in many ways, lost souls in need of guidance. You've developed a knack for guiding the lost. Who better to show this one the way?”

— Esheregos/Eregesh Silvergale, to Zulimbasha the Collector

Lengua is a dracthyr evoker belonging to the Dark Talons, the weyrn aligned with the Horde.

Biography

The dracthyr were created by Neltharion the Earth-Warder as the "ultimate warriors", and Lengua was one of them. When she was awakened, she did not know any of what had come before, only that they had been kept beneath the earth at Neltharion's command, and that Malygos had placed guardians to watch over the creches. The blue dragons reacted with hostility to their emergence, filling Lengua with rage as she lashed out against the blue guardians. Slashing her way out of the creche where she had been contained and stepping into the daylight, she saw their home territory overgrown and forgotten; worse, elemental powers were surging at the hands of mortals, aided by powerful dragons. Her rage only increased as the battle progressed, along with a question: Where was the Earth-Warder? Surely he would have orders for them?

The answers came in the form of two black dragons, Wrathion and Ebyssian - the former barely out of whelping, the latter much older - who had arrived to aid their forefather's lost children during the struggle against the "Primalists" and their master, Raszageth the Storm-Eater. It was during that battle that they discovered the truth: Neltharion, cursed by the mortal races with the name "Deathwing", was dead. The news struck Lengua with the force of a physical blow. If their creator, their father, was dead... what purpose did the weyrns have? For her, the answer came from an unlikely source: two blue dragons, but far less hostile than the guardians set by Malygos. The elder of the two identified himself as Esheregos, and the other as his niece, Rianagosa. They had come to the homeland of dragonkind, beckoned by the Beacon of Tyrhold; they had learned how the two black dragons, together with the bronze Aspect Nozdormu, had discovered the lost children of the Earth-Warder. Far from being unimportant, Esheregos assured Lengua that the dracthyr would have "great work" ahead of them.

Lengua arrives at the Necropolis on the back of Rianagosa

Esheregos bade Lengua accompany her weyrn to Orgrimmar, seeing their temperment as being ideal for the Horde. There, he explained, they seek out a guide to aid Lengua on her journey. To Rianagosa's surprise, it was not her uncle's former student, the goblin archmage Kelty Sparkleblast (though given how goblins would react, she understood why), but an unlikely ally: The Zandalari death-priest Zulimbasha the Collector. Once they met him, they would explain the situation. Rianagosa journeyed with Lengua to Orgrimmar and made inquiries, learning from the Darkspear priestess Silna that Zulimbasha had gone home to Zandalar. Informed of this, Esheregos told them to meet him in Nazmir, where they would find the Collector in the Necropolis, the temple of his patron Loa, Bwonsamdi.

Surprised by the unexpected visitors, Zulimbasha was absolutely astonished upon learning that the mage he'd met in Ardenweald during the war for the Shadowlands was actually a dragon; he had never suspected his true nature, knowing him by his mortal visage, Eregesh. Esheregos had a great respect for the efforts of "balance" that Zulimbasha sought, calling Lengua a "lost soul" in need of guidance. Both he and Rianagosa explained the situation in the Dragon Isles, and warned that people like Zulimbasha would soon be needed. Listening in silence all throughout, the Collector warily agreed to Esheregos' request to be Lengua's guide.
