Tenatsali Windspear belongs to a line of hunters from the Highmountain tribe who have hunted game in the harsh mountainous terrain of their homeland since the War of the Ancients. His spear has recently been used against the mad drogbar in service to Dargrul the Underking, and has slain demons both around the Broken Isles and on the battlefields of Argus. Tenatsali's strength and skill have been at the service of the Horde ever since... though he has questioned where that service will lead him.

Biography

The Windspear line have been hunters in the wilds of Highmountain since the War of the Ancients, and Tenatsali is no exception. Trained from an early age with the spear, he made his living as his people did - from the land, wherever possible, and whenever the spirits allowed it. When the Burning Legion made war against Azeroth, Tenatsali helped protect Thunder Totem both from Dargrul the Underking, who sought to destroy Highmountain with the power of the Hammer of Khaz'goroth, and the Legion, which corrupted the Bloodtotem tribe and turned them against their kin.

It was during the battle for Highmountain that Tenatsali met Kegren Dawntotem, a tauren from Mulgore far to the west, who wielded An'she's light to heal the wounded and slay demons; after Dargrul's death, Tenatsali joined the Unseen Path and joined Kegren on a number of other battlefields, including the final battle for Argus. Both began to hope for a time when their peoples would unite in a common cause. That unity came after Argus, when Baine Bloodhoof, High Chieftain of Thunder Bluff, made overtures of alliance to the Highmountain tribes.

Tenatsali eagerly offered his skill to the defense of not only Highmountain, but the Horde as well; as time went on, however, he began to express doubt (which he was pleased to see was also shared by Kegren and a number of others) as to the direction that Warchief Sylvanas Windrunner was taking the Horde as a new war with the Alliance began. He was horrified by the crimes committed by the Forsaken, particularly the burning of Teldrassil and the plague-bombing of Lordaeron, which came at a sickening cost in lives. He joined the resistance against Sylvanas without hesitation, seeing the conflict through to its conclusion in Orgrimmar. When word came that she had broken open the way to the Shadowlands, Tenatsali joined those who traveled into the land of the dead in pursuit. It would be a journey that would both be of great import... and come at great cost.

Hearing that the great Huln had made his way to Ardenweald, where he was known as the "Horned Hunter", Tenatsali allied with the night fae during the war that followed, and fought to protect the weald against the curse of the drust, as well as the forces of the Maw. He would lose his animal friends who had fought alongside him since the Legion war; his trusted moose steed, Tarandos, would fall to the drust, while his beloved eagle friend, Talako, fell to the Mawsworn in Korthia, in a brutal fight that nearly killed Tenatsali himself. Blooded and battered, having lost an antler in the fight, Tenatsali was adamant that he would not die in such a place. He had had skill in healing in the past, something beyond what he had learned on the hunt, but never suspected why. Returning to Highmountain for a period to recuperate, he soon found his answer: his grandmother, who had died before he was born, had been a shaman, and he had inherited a connection to the elements, which he felt explained his much easier-than-usual kinship with beasts in the wild. He realized he had a healing gift, part of it he had used for himself for a time, but mostly for his animals. He now realized he could apply it to his comrades now as well.

Returning to Ardenweald, he discovered that the spirit of Tarandos had lingered there, brought back by both natural forces and the stubborn spirit of the moose to return to his side, and so he would do upon venturing to Zereth Mortis for the conflict's end. Following the death of the Jailer, he has received a new test... a call by the new leadership of the Forsaken, seeking to distance themselves from Sylvanas' crimes, to help restore their fallen capital and clear the blight unleashed by the Banshee Queen.
