Soji is the child of exiles from Vol'dun who became a druid during the Fourth War. She now acts as personal courier to Zulimbasha the Collector, high priest of her new patron Loa, Bwonsamdi.

Biography

Soji was born in Vol'dun some two decades before war came to Zandalar's shores. Her parents were believed to have been exiled for stealing food from a temple altar; they never told her, and she never cared to find out. They died when she was a teenager, and she gravitated to the vulpera caravans after that. It was working with the caravan of the shaman Eldex that she met one of his guards, an assassin named Vilaya. Both were drawn together by two things: A hatred for the sethrak, who regularly raided caravans and exile communities for slave labor, and a feeling that death somehow had plans for them in the near future.

When the Alliance invaded Zandalar, Vilaya was approached by a Zandalari in an unusual skull-mask, and Soji recognized immediately that he was pledged to Bwonsamdi. She learned that his name was Zulimbasha, and he was indeed one of the death Loa's priests. When Vilaya - guided by a vision by the exiled spiritseer Valkia'jin - pledged her blades to Zulimbasha, Soji joined her, eager to move away from a place she felt she had no business being.

When she arrived in Zuldazar, she was drawn to the temple of Gonk, and found she had a natural ability with the shapeshifting ability of the Raptari. Despite this, however, she did not pledge herself to the Master of Shapes; the feeling that death had plans for her led her to formally become a devotee of Bwonsamdi, particularly given her personal allegiance to Zulimbasha. The Collector was glad to have her skills, not only with scouting and stealth work - a trait she shares with Vilaya - but also with her ability to shift into a swift flight form. Zulimbasha thus asked her to be his personal courier, half-joking that she was a lot more personable (in spite of her hardened stoicism in the desert) than Vilaya, whose "messages" tended to involve the pair of bone-bladed daggers she carried. Somewhat wrong-footed by her patron's sense of humor, Soji nonetheless accepted. She is based on the Echo Isles, which acts as a mid-point between Zuldazar (connected by boat) and Orgrimmar, which acts as a hub for the rest of the Horde, allowing her quick travel to where she needs to go.
