Metheius' Deathguard (officially the 122nd Deathguard Battalion, Royal Army of the Forsaken) is one of the Forsaken Deathguard formations serving in Gilneas during the occupation. A small, elite force, its members have been tapped by Sylvanas herself for operations all over Lordaeron.
The 122nd's commander is General Varan Metheius, a former Scourge death knight who now serves the Dark Lady unquestioningly. Despite minor setbacks in the campaign with the cursing of Hillsbrad's survivors and Lord Godfrey's betrayal at the Greymane Wall, the forces here remain committed to their mission. General Metheius and his "mouthpiece", the hunter Declan Malkus, also conduct solo operations to ensure the Forsaken's continued successes in Lordaeron.
Their primary foe is the Shadowhowl pack, allies of the Gilneas Liberation Front who pick off any Forsaken they encounter.
