Livery Outpost
The Livery Outpost is a horse stable just outside of Gilneas City, near the bridge that leads to Merchant Square. It is also at the end of the mine cart tracks that lead from Emberstone Mine in Gilneas.
History
Curse of the Worgen
A few days after the death of Lord Vincent Godfrey at Tempest's Reach, the Gilnean went to listen to King Greymane's speech at Livery Outpost. Shortly before, Genn revealed to Prince Liam the truth behind Archmage Arugal's summoning of the worgen during the Third War, including his responsibility in this decision. He also revealed how he and the other nobles relentlessly hunted the bloodthirsty beasts to extinction, without much success as he was infected during one of the hunts. Once ready and now with the support of his son, Genn climbed onto one of the carts and decided to stop concealing his infection, transforming into a worgen. As he let everyone know that he had been afflicted by the curse and fear for a long time, he asked his people who would be willing to fight alongside him; who would be willing to put their fears aside and follow him to reclaim their home. Eventually, the Gilnean people rallied behind him when he announced that it was time for the Forsaken predators to become prey.[1]
Cataclysm
Prior to the battle for Gilneas City, King Greymane learned that Emberstone Village was under Forsaken occupation, and thus sent Lorna Crowley and some of his men to begin the operations at Livery Outpost. He also tasked the worgen adventurer to help them while he organized the final push for the capital at Tempest's Reach.[2] Among them, Marcus was a civilian who had managed to escape the Emberstone Mine and asked help to avenge his deceased wife.[3] In anticipation of the conflict, Magda Whitewall also tasked the adventurer to bring her the meat of the Brown Stags wandering the lush hills near the Livery Outpost, in order to ensure that the the last meal her folks received would be the best.[4] After the adventurer helped to reclaim Emberstone Village from the Forsaken,[5][6] Prince Liam gathered the Gilnean Militia at the bridge between Livery Outpost and the Merchant Square's gates, where he gave an impassioned speech before leading the charge to begin the battle of Gilneas City.[7]
By the time of the liberation of Gilneas, Livery Outpost was devoid of life following the evacuation of the entire Gilnean population to find exile in Darnassus.[8][9]
Dragonflight
Over a decade later, the area returned under the control of the kingdom following the Reclamation of Gilneas, but remained devoid of civilian presence.
