Rutsak's Guard
Rutsak's Guard[66, 35] was a Forsaken outpost watching over Gilneas City, in the Northern Headlands of the Ruins of Gilneas. Prior to the invasion of Gilneas, the place appeared to be a Gilnean manor, located northeast of the city and east of Dreadwatch Outpost.
History
Cataclysm
By the time of the liberation of Gilneas, the site was under the control of Captain Rutsak and his men, until all outpost communication was severed. After Forward Commander Onslaught discovered the slaughter at Dreadwatch Outpost,[1] he sent the Horde adventurer to investigate the situation here; only to discover that its occupants had been killed and burned, except for Captain Rutsak who was left alive on purpose. The Forsaken captain then revealed that those responsible were 7th Legion Submariners under the command of Master Sergeant Pietro Zaren, sent as reinforcements by Stormwind to help the Gilneans take back their kingdom.[2] After he tasked the Horde adventurer to avenge his men, Rutsak announced that he was leaving the area and returning to Silverpine Forest, as he wished to retire from service after such carnage.[3]
Following the end of the conflicts between the Alliance and the Horde in the realm, Dreadwatch Outpost was left abandoned like the other Forsaken outposts.
Dragonflight
Over a decade later, the area returned under the control of the kingdom following the Reclamation of Gilneas, but remained devoid of civilian presence.
