The outpost during the invasion of Gilneas.

Forsaken Forward Command was the main Horde outpost in the Ruins of Gilneas, located right along the Greymane Wall in the Northern Headlands, extending from the gate in all directions into the peninsula.

History

Cataclysm

Cataclysm This section concerns content related to Cataclysm.

The outpost was created during the invasion of Gilneas under the command of Forward Commander Onslaught. In order to regain control of the realm, and eliminate the Gilneas Liberation Front and Bloodfang pack led by Lord Darius Crowley and Ivar Bloodfang, Sylvanas Windrunner sent Deathstalker Commander Belmont at the outpost with a secret plan, and later the Horde adventurer with Arthura to help him.[1] While the outpost lasted, it was under constant attack by Worgen Rushers. At the same time, the Northern Headlands was filled with Forsaken Vanguards and Worgen Rebels locked in combat. Despite their numerical superiority, the knowledge of the terrain and the surprise attacks carried out by the worgen became a serious threat for the Forsaken Forward Command. Consequently, Onslaught tasked the Horde adventurer to eliminate a few worgen to help his soldiers on the battlefield.[2] He also ordered them to recover the Forsaken Communication Device, in order to reestablish communications with their troops across Gilneas.[3]

The Horde adventurer was later sent to investigate the status of Dreadwatch Outpost and Rutsak's Guard, since communications were cut with the main outpost.[4][5] After they discovered that the Forsaken troops have been massacred by the 7th Legion,[6] they received the final transmission from Forward Commander Onslaught, who explained that they were overrun by a pack of bloodthirsty worgen and that the survivors had to retreat.[7] Following the battle, a group of worgen rushers could be seen standing around the corpse of Forward Commander Onslaught and several Forsaken vanguards' corpses littered the ground.

Following the end of the conflicts between the Alliance and the Horde in the realm, Forsaken Forward Command was left in ruins.

Dragonflight

Dragonflight This section concerns content related to Dragonflight.

Over a decade later, all structures, banners, and plague machines in the outpost were removed by the Gilnean people after the Reclamation of Gilneas, leaving only a few tents and barricades.

Notes

  • Although they cannot be targeted, Forsaken Blightspreaders are piloting the catapults stationed in this area. They are apparently not too happy about the job they are doing and will regularly make their opinions known:
    • This is a war, right? We're supposed to be able to kill our enemies with our weapons, right?
    • This blight is useless.
    • What did they test this crap on? Murlocs?
    • Watered down garbage. Doesn't even slow 'em down.
    • We're gonna lose this war to "regulations." What's next? Only wooden swords may be used???
