The Hammond Farmstead.
Hammond Farmstead destroyed.

Hammond Farmstead was a farm located west and downhill of Duskhaven, in southwestern Gilneas. Melinda Hammond owned the farmstead where she grew corn. Next door, to the south, was Allen Farmstead. The two properties were divided by an ominous fissure in the ground right before the Cataclysm.

At the beginning of the invasion of Gilneas, Melinda Hammond had to leave her property which was invaded by the Forsaken, and was secured in the Allen farmstead's storm cellar.[1] When the worgen adventurer was sent by Gwen Armstead to help, Melinda asked them to find her children Cynthia, Ashley and James at her property, as the military would not allow her outside the cellar.[2] At the same time, the Forsaken Machinists and their catapults landed on the Duskmist Shore and began bombarding the Hammond and Allen farmsteads.[3]

Along with the Duskmist Shore, these were the first sections to fall into the sea during the Cataclysm.[4] Its underwater ruins could be visited on the Gilnean coast, until the destruction of Duskhaven.

Over a decade later, the Hammond family came to settle down in Stormglen Village after the Reclamation of Gilneas. Although it was not their old home in Duskhaven, Melinda appreciated that her children came to help her build a new home there.[5]

Notes

  • The farm has a graveyard next to the house.
