Curse of the Worgen is a five-part[1] comic mini-series. This mini-series fleshed out the background and the druidic history of the worgen and "really dig deep" to explain "exactly how they came about," and "where they came from." It included the creation of the Scythe of Elune.[2]

It was written by Micky Neilson and James Waugh with art from Ludo Lullabi and Tony Washington (issue 1).

Notes

The beta tabard and armor design used erroneously throughout the comic.
The guard wearing not only the wrong tabard, but the beta design of the Gilneas City Guards, note the helmet.
  • In Curse of the Worgen Issue 4, a representation of the worgen player character appears briefly in human form behind Lord Godfrey before transforming into their worgen form and cornering him with Genn Greymane; just as it is done in game during A IconSmall Worgen Male.gifIconSmall Worgen Female.gif [1-30] Betrayal at Tempest's Reach.
  • The various guards and soldiers are colored incorrectly, instead of using the blues, browns and blacks of the guards in game; they use a mixture of brown, steel, and most strangely, green on their tabards. This seems to be a remnant of mixed references provided; as Gilnean guards used pieces of the Heavy Mithril set mixed with an unused tabard for the Kvaldir in the betastages of Cataclysm. In the earliest issues of the comic, they use this armor entirely, including the wrong helmet design.
    • One of the guards can be briefly seen with the boat tabard in the background.
