WoW's Anniversary (or the Bronze Celebration) is an event celebrated around the 23rd of November as that marks the release of the original World of Warcraft in 2004 and coincides with Warcraft's Anniversary which takes place around the 15th of November. Logging in during the anniversary typically rewards a special achievement and gives a unique buff to experience and reputation earned for the duration of the event. Every five or ten years may involve a special event to go along with the normal event such as the 10th anniversary included a level 100 version of Molten Core and the 15th anniversary included a set of miniature raid wings that players had to survive through called the Memories of Azeroth.

Events

The event includes daily quests, unique rewards such as transmog, pets, and mounts, and the return of the classic world bosses.

Upcoming in 2024

Announced at gamescom 2024, the 20th event starts on November 1 to "explore the rich history of Azeroth and earn exclusive rewards" and will last until December 16. Additionally, seek the upcoming Warcraft Direct stream to see what's next for the Warcraft franchise.

The WoW's 20th Anniversary event was announced on 4 September 2024, and with it is a plethora a new activities and rewards. It'll last through the month of November and December.

New with 2023

In 2023, new additions included:

•  [Azure Worldchiller], a frosty variant of  [Obsidian Worldbreaker], drops from Doomwalker.
•  [Lil' Frostwing], a frosty variant of  [Lil' Deathwing], is the pet mailed to the player via the  [Anniversary Gift]. This pet has a feat of strength,  [Lil' Frostwing].
• Gear drops from the world bosses are item level 441 (upgradable).
• And of course the achievement to commemorate the anniversary:  [WoW's 19th Anniversary].

Notes and trivia

• The first WoW anniversary (2005) did not feature any in-game event. It instead was celebrated on the community website with a Community Timeline. This timeline featured game updates, subscribers' milestones, and remarkable fan-made content (such as the infamous Leeroy Jenkins video). It is possible to visit an archived version of this website.
• There are no achievements for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd anniversaries because the Achievement system only came out in 2008 with Wrath of the Lich King, four years since the initial release of World of Warcraft.
