Race descriptions
- Scalawag Slither
- This race is the Scalawag Slither.
- Well shiver me timbers, matey! That's what all those Northsea pirates are saying down there. Not because of any shaking of their ships, but because the North Sea is a very cold place.
- Am I doing some form of theme race? No. I chose this spot for the cliffs and icebergs. But people seem to love pirates, so I'm going to include them.
- Daggercap Dart
- Welcome to the Daggercap Dart.
- We stand on top of Utgarde Keep where Ymiron, king of the vrykul ruled. See those skulls carved into the walls of the keep? He's what we in the bronze dragonflight call "a baddie." Also, he tried to kill off humanity in its infancy.
- But evil architecture makes for some thrilling dragon racing, doesn't it? Focus on that as you plummet down the fjords surrounding Daggercap Bay.
- Blackriver Burble
- This race is the Blackriver Burble.
- I may not agree with Venture Company's policy of extracting anything of value from the land and leaving it despoiled and ruined. I love forests, they make great racetracks. Does the fun of the industrial detritus course make up for the damage to the natural world?
- Yes. From my perspective at least.
- Gundrak Fast Track
- We call this race the Gundrak Fast Track.
- Partially named for some of the swift acceleration you will achieve diving down the sides of these temples, but also in honor of the speed that the Drakkari Empire collapsed. They made some monumentally bad decisions.
- But you're here to race, not hear my theories on why sacrificing your gods rarely works out.
- Zul'Drak Zephyr
- Welcome to the Zul'Drak Zephyr.
- It's a fun little course. Nothing too out of the ordinary. You'll fly through a forest, avoid some brambles, skirt the ruins of a once powerful empire, and maybe catch a glimpse of a gigantic shambling flesh titan created from the bodies of storm giants.
- All typical, everyday sights that you are probably used to, given the life that you chose, champion.
- Makers' Marathon
- This race is the Makers' Marathon.
- The titans knew how to build big. Ulduar is a massive complex, that has been here since they arrived on Azeroth. The titans and the old gods have been fighting for thousands of years and their conflicts have shaped all life on Azeroth.
- That's a real marathon. This race might seem long, but it is nothing in the grand scheme of things. I'd still pace yourself.
- Crystalsong Crisis
- This race is the Crystalsong Crisis.
- The Shandaral Highborn were desperate for more magical power, so they stole magical techniques of the blue dragonflight that were quite beyond their skill. The crisis of that conflict resulted in the crystal forest you see beneath you.
- It is strange how beautiful and peaceful this forest looks from up here, with so tragic and violent of an origin. But like racing, history is full of strange twists and turns that you can't see coming.
- Dragonblight Dragon Flight
- This race is the Dragonblight Dragon Flight.
- We've set these races in many of the sacred spaces across Azeroth. I suppose that it is our turn. The Dragonblight is where the five dragonflights came into being, and it is where they try to return to at the end of their lives. In looking out over this vast icy plain, I am filled with feelings.
- So, race them out! It's the best way to deal with emotions.
- Citadel Sortie
- This race is the Citadel Sortie.
- If evil architecture makes for thrilling racing, then you are in for such a treat! Icecrown Citadel is one of the evilest structures to have ever been built. Just look at the spikes, the towers, those long parapets.
- I don't support the Lich King's policy of raising everyone as undead under his control, but this structure still fills me with excitement whenever I see it.
- Sholazar Spree
- Welcome to the Sholazar Spree.
- You can discard any frost resist armor you had packed. Sholazar Basin is as warm and humid as Un'Goro crater. How could that be possible? Titan magic, that's how.
- I don't really know the exact invocations they used. I'm no climate expert, my specialty is the proper recording of time as it relates to your position on the track. Let's get to it!
- Geothermal Jaunt
- Are you ready for the Geothermal Jaunt?
- This is just a short little course. A quick lap that will take you over caustic salt flats, geysers spewing toxic vapor, and passing you through any number of geothermal contraptions.
- I am assured by the controllers at Fizzcrank Airstrip that none of this will cause any delay in their regularly scheduled flights.
- Coldarra Climb
- Welcome to the Coldarra Climb.
- Malygos diverted ley lines to this icy island as part of the plot that led to the Nexus War. While the rift between the dragonflights has healed, we can still see the towering platforms made possible by the arcane magic of war.
- It makes for a challenging course with its steep climbs and dives. Alas, such structures are rarely built for peaceful reasons.
