Hearthstone's 10th Anniversary was a world event celebrating the 10th anniversary of Hearthstone. The event lasted for one week, running from 11-22 March 2024.

Locations

The event is celebrated atop the green tower in the Seat of the Aspects of Valdrakken, the northern section of the Stormwind Harbor in Stormwind City, and Durotar outside Orgrimmar, just beyond the Dranosh'ar Blockade near the zeppelin tower to the Dragon Isles.

The small event areas are no fly areas during the duration of the event. The station has a Refreshment Vendor who offers meal, while the Shady Dealer, found slightly outside the main area, offers  [Hearthstone Wild Cards].

Event

Cards and matches

The first time players log in to the game during the event, they will receive an in-game mail from MC Farala, which reads:

Hearthstone's been played for ten years, can you believe it?

I'm hosting Hearthstone games -- Come join us!

Attached is a  [Hearthstone Invitation Letter], which starts the quest  [1-70] It's Hearthstone's Anniversary!, directing the player to the celebration in Valdrakken. Farala offers  [1-70] Play Hearthstone!, providing the first Hearthstone cards via the  [Hearthstone Starter Pack] for achievements and guiding the player to Hearthstone matches.

Whizbang's minions

Ominous Portal.

Every 30 minutes, an Ominous Portal spawns at the event locations in Valdrakken, Stormwind City, and Durotar with the yellow portal icon on the map. Once the 5-minute timer runs out, Whizbang spawns and summons his minions, representing cards from Hearthstone. Initially, he summons either a Chillwind Yeti or Boulderfist Ogre along with Patches. After defeating one of them, Whizbang summons Dr. Boom, who is aided by Boom Bots.

Defeat the elite mobs to loot item rewards from Dr. Boom. There's no limit/lockout on looting Dr. Boom.

Countdown of the Ominous Portal finished

Whizbang emerges from the Ominous Portal, floating.

Whizbang yells: And who do we have here? Hearthstone enthusiasts looking for a challenge? Here, have some playmates...

Whizbang tosses cards into the air and summons two enemies.

Patch changes

• Hotfix (2024-03-14):
  • Fixed a bug where it was possible to complete the Whizbang encounter and not receive Trading Post credit for it.
  • Players can now collect missing cards by using the Hearthstone Gameboard toy to defeat others in a friendly game. It will continue to drop cards after the event ends.
  • The event duration has been extended by 96 hours, and is now scheduled to end on Friday, March 22.
  • For the remainder of the event, the boss portal will open every 30 minutes (was every 60 minutes).
    
• Hotfix (2024-03-12): Whizbang's portal should now spawn simultaneously in all three locations, every hour.
  
• Patch 10.2.5 (2024-01-16): Added.
