The subject of this article or section is part of the Kirin Tor Tavern Crawl, a micro-world event, lasting a very short time.

Kirin Tor Tavern Crawl was a semi-annual micro-holiday event in Dalaran, on 31 January and 31 July. It was removed from the calendar shortly before its mid-2021 date, and hasn't occurred since then. It's unknown if it will return in the future.

Event

The mages of Azeroth like to relax, too. Hop into a portal at your local watering hole and join the Tavern Crawl!

Getting started

At an inn in Dalaran, you will find either a gnome by the name of Tipsi Wobblerune (for the Alliance) or a blood elf called Anebria Sunwine (for the Horde). Talking to them will take you to a random inn around the world. After a few minutes, a new tavern is randomly selected and the group moves along there. You can press the [Last Call] button or take the portal to move on.

If you get left behind on the tavern tour, you can catch up by speaking to the mage's projection in the current tavern you are in. Each location has drink and food that you can interact with. The food will grant a [Well Fed] buff. There are also additional Tavern Enthusiast NPCs in each tavern enjoying the holiday.

Around the inns you will find Discarded Packages. Opening one will put a hat on your head.

The Laughing Yeti is owned by Himmik. He sells  [Sparkling Snowplum Brandy]. Unlike the other taverns, this one comes with another unique NPC during the Crawl: Balto.

Notes and trivia

  • The Tavern Crawl may have been canceled as part of the World of Warcraft team's effort to remove inappropriate references and content in response to the discrimination lawsuit brought against Activision Blizzard by the California Civil Rights Department. The team's statement was released on July 27,[1] and it was gone from the calendar by the next day.[2]
  • The event was first scheduled on 31 January 2017, but its debut was interrupted because issues found in the PTR could not be corrected via hotfix.[3]
