Tempest Unleashed
The subject of this article or section was part of Tempest Unleashed, a world event that heralded the opening of the Dragon Isles.

The Tempest Unleashed is the pre-Dragonflight launch event.[1]

The Primalists invaded Azeroth before the launch of the expansion starting on November 15, rewarding players that stood against them with unique rewards. The start of the event also coincided with the release of dracthyr evoker, and their starting zone the Forbidden Reach, as well as the Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr dungeon.

The event has invasions in three separate locations, split between Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms - Northern Barrens, Un'Goro Crater, and the Badlands.

The launch event, along with the Dragonflight introduction questline, are available to level 10 characters in the pre-patch.

Stages

Primal Storms in <zone name>

Primal Ward

Primalists have invaded the area, imbuing nearby creatures and empowering massive elementals. Remove the primalist threat to render these monstrosities vulnerable to attacks.
  • Reduce Elemental Protection to zero

Kill the enemies till the Elemental Protection bar (Defeat Imbued creatures to unleash the elemental) reaches 0, after which enemies get the Elemental Submission debuff, rendering them unattackable.

Containing the Elements

Defeat the unleashed elemental.
  • Unleashed Elemental defeated

Defeating an elemental lord for the first time gives  [Sigil of Storms] starting B [10-60] Sigil of Storms.

The scenario ends with:

The elemental lord has been defeated. The elements and the land are at peace for now.

Notes and trivia

  • During the PTR, the Tirisfal Glades zone was also part of the elemental invasion. The player had to be in the Cataclysm version of the zone, and speaking with Zidormi was needed for max-level characters. The main area was the field between Balnir Farmstead and the Bulwark, and minor invasion points included Scarlet Watchtower, Venomweb Vale, and North Coast. Though the Tirisfal Glades invasion did not go live, it was still listed as an invasion zone on the website.
  • Initially, the world event was called Primal Storms, the same name used for the event on the Dragon Isles. The final name was revealed the day of the patch.
