Bonus Event
Bonus Events (or Weekend Events) are special time-limited events that last one week. The current Event is selected through a rotating schedule of seven different Bonus Events. Each type grants players a special buff for the duration that increases rewards from the highlighted type of content, and a once-per-event quest with a noteworthy reward for accomplishing a related goal.
The schedule for current and future Bonus Events can be viewed through the in-game calendar. Players can also find the current Event and accept any relevant quests through the Adventure Guide.
In The War Within, Archivist Frithrun offers quests related to the active Bonus Event.
Types
Timewalking
- Main article: Timewalking
There are six different Timewalking Bonus Events: One for content from the original vanilla release and each expansion from The Burning Crusade through Legion. Each event comes with its own reputation buff for reputations in that expansion, and a quest to Defeat 5 Timewalking raid bosses or dungeons.

Expansion dungeons
During this Bonus Event, the final boss of each current expansion or seasonal dungeon will award an extra item upon defeat due to 
[Sign of the Warrior].
Frithrun will offer [80W] Emissary of War.
Battlegrounds
During this Bonus Event, the 
[Honor] gained from Battleground objectives and wins are increased by 50% due to 
[Sign of Battle].
Frithrun will offer [80W] A Call to Battle.
Skirmishes
During this Bonus Event, skirmishes will award [Honor] at an increased rate due to 
[Sign of the Skirmisher].
Frithrun will offer [80W] The Arena Calls.
World Quests
During this Bonus Event, players will earn extra reputation with the appropriate faction upon completing world quests due to 
[Sign of the Emissary].
Frithrun will offer [80W] The World Awaits.
Pet Battles
Pet Battle Bonus Events grant players double pet experience from pet battles due to 
[Sign of the Critter]. Winning five PvP Pet Battles as part of a special quest will award an 
[Ultimate Battle-Training Stone].
Frithrun will offer [80W] The Very Best.
Delves
During this Bonus Event, rewards gained from delves are increased by 25% due to 
[Sign of the Explorer].
Frithrun will offer [80W] A Call to Delves.
Removed
- Apexis Crystals
During this Event, eligible creatures will drop extra Apexis Crystals. Completing three area assault objectives during the Event will award the player with additional Oil for use in the garrison shipyard.
- Warlords of Draenor dungeons
During this Bonus Event, players will earn reputation with an appropriate faction upon defeating enemies in any Draenor dungeon.
NPCs
The NPC who offer the Bonus Event quests changes with each expansion and are usually found at the hub city of the expansion. Archivist Frithrun is the current one in The War Within, found in Dornogal.

Notes
When patch 7.0.3 was released, the usual schedule was replaced for the final run-up to Legion: Timewalking (BC, WotLK, Cata), Apexis, and Draenor dungeons. The final bonus event concluded one week before the launch of the Legion expansion. Bonus events did not start up again until 27 September 2016, when an updated Arena Skirmish began.
With the release of patch 8.0.1, the schedule remained unchanged but otherwise generally followed Legion precedent: No bonus events in the two weeks prior to launch of Battle for Azeroth, and beginning again five weeks later with Battle for Azeroth Dungeons on 11 September 2018.
Patch changes
Patch 11.0.2 (2024-08-13): Delves event added. 
Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19):
- Apexis event replaced with World Quests.
- The Dungeon event now awards extra loot from the final boss instead of granting reputation from kills.
- Bonus events now last the full week.
Patch 6.2.2 (2015-09-01): Bonus Events now begin earlier in the week on Wednesday. - Patch 6.2.0 (2015-06-23): Added.
