The Radiant Echoes is the pre-The War Within launch event running from 30 July 2024 to 26 August. The event is available to level 10-70 characters.
After Magni Bronzebeard attempted to commune with Azeroth to make sense of the Radiant Song, memories of old characters and past events came to life once more.[1] The event has invasions in three separate locations, split between Kalimdor, the Eastern Kingdoms, and Northrend - Dustwallow Marsh, Searing Gorge, and the Dragonblight. Broken Isles Dalaran serves as the hub for the event.

Band of Radiant Echoes and essences
[Band of Radiant Echoes] is a new heirloom ring obtained through the event. Buy the 
[Lifeless Stone Ring], then farm 20x 
[Memory of Northrend], 20x 
[Memory of Kalimdor], and 20x 
[Memory of the Eastern Kingdoms]. Combining each set of 20 produces 
[Essence of Northrend], 
[Essence of Kalimdor], and 
[Essence of the Eastern Kingdoms] respectively. With the Essence gathered, use the [Lifeless Stone Ring] to create the new heirloom ring!
Level 10-69 gear
The set that levels 10-69 can obtain consists of weapons and gear part of the Recruit's Sturdy set.
Event overview
The event occurs and cycles between three zones: Searing Gorge, Dustwallow Marsh, and Dragonblight. They will cycle in that order. For example, the active zone Dragonblight will then cycle to Searing Gorge. Portals in the Broken Isles Dalaran will be available to take you directly to the event staging area and a return portal is available in each of the event zones so that players can quickly return to Dalaran and head into the next occurrence of the event. When the event is active in a zone, the portal will have an additional golden glow to indicate that it is active. These are shown with the usual even horn vignette on the zone map as well.
During an active event, memories will be available throughout the zone. As players complete memories, a new memory will spawn in the zone and the progress bar will decrease. Once the progress bar reaches zero, the boss for that zone will spawn:
- Remembered Lich King in the Dragonblight
- Remembered Firelord in the Searing Gorge
- Remembered Onyxia in Dustwallow Marsh
Once the boss has been killed, the progress bar is reset to 100% again and the cycle continues. Each zone lasts for an hour before it cycles to the next zone.
For inactive zones, the only available memories are "Lingering Memories" and at the spawn location for the boss is the Assauged Memories that shows the timer when the event will cycle to that zone.
Original incarnation
The event occurs in four stages and cycles between three zones. Additionally, the time for the zone cycle was planned to be reduced after each week, with the first week starting on 30 July lasting 90 minutes between cycles.
- During the first week of the event, zones will cycle every 90 minutes.
- During the second week of the event, zones will cycle every 60 minutes.
- During the third and fourth weeks of the event, zones will cycle every 30 minutes.
For the first stage of the event, a Coalesced Memory boss will spawn in one of the zones. As this Coalesced Memory is defeated, many NPCs reflecting past memories of Azeroth will spawn, but they can be easily killed with a few people.
Once this Coalesced Memory is defeated, a second stage of the event will begin. Six events spawn through the zone the Radiant Echo is happening at, reflecting past memories seen through past adventures in Azeroth. These reflect events that happened on that continent, i.e., Dustwallow Marsh shows Kalimdor memories, Searing Gorge shows Eastern Kingdoms memories, and Dragonblight shows Northrend memories.
These events can include things like slaying enemies of the past, helping settle battles, or even collecting famous items from the past!
Once all six events are completed, a final boss of old will spawn - Onyxia in Dustwallow Marsh, Ragnaros in Searing Gorge and the Lich King in Dragonblight. Defeating each boss will complete the Radiant Echo!
In stage four, the Radiant Echoes have subsided. Players can choose to return to Dalaran or stay within the zone to slay lingering memories to continue to accrue Residual Memories. A timer within the zone the Residual Memories are still active in will count down to the next zone event. Players can return to Dalaran and take the portal to the next zone that goes active.

Entering each echo area is accompanied by one of Khadgar's lines:

When the events in the zone ends, Assauged Memories inform the player of the next one.
Each event has a bar of 100%. Complete the Radiant Echoes activities to reduce it and summon the boss.
Searing Gorge
Phase 1

Memories of Hogger
- The Scourge of Elwynn Forest
- Remembered Hogger slain.
Fight the gnoll east of Pyrox Flats. Periodically he will cast Undergeared Memories, reducing damage dealt to him and causing one of the following quests to appear (mouseover over them to show a quest description); complete it to level back up and clear the debuff:
- Remembered Timberlain says: I need more linen! Bring me some bandanas from those blasted Defias that are always hanging around.
- Remembered Maybell says: The wind took my love letters! Grab them, quick, before they blow away!
- Remembered Remy says: Get me some of that gold dust the kobolds are carrying! I'll give you the best rates in all Goldshire!
Kill the mobs around Hogger to turn in the items. Maybell wants Remembered Love Letters, Remy wants to kill Remembered Kobolds, and Remembered Defias have Timberlain's linen.
- Remembered Timberlain yells: Thanks for the help! I can always use more red linen.
- Remembered Maybell yells: Oh, thank you! Thank you! Isn't Tommy Joe just the dreamiest?
