Guild bank
A guild bank is an in-game storage interface for holding items and money to be shared among guild members.
Official guild banks
Blizzard-supported guild banks were introduced with patch 2.3 to help reduce player-created guild banks, which were prone to Terms of Use violations due to account sharing.
Features
- Access to the guild bank via a guild vault object next to the standard bankers in the game.
- 8 purchasable tabs which have 98 item slots each; bags are not required for the slots. The price for the first tab is 100
, and increases for each successive tab, 250
, 500
, 1000
, 2500
, 5000
, 10000
, 20000
, for a grand total of 39350
. The money will be taken from the guild's stored money, not from the player who purchases the tab.
- Storage of money.
- Players with the appropriate permissions can store items and money for use by the rest of the guild. The guild master can allocate different permissions to each tab as required.
- Repair NPCs have a 'pay for repairs from guild funds' button based on guild permissions (up to withdraw limit).
- Advanced permission system (defaults to controlled by guild leader) that can allow, disallow, and limit the interaction (deposit/withdraw items or money) per tab, per guild rank. Withdrawal limits can be set up.
- Access logs in-game showing the 25 latest money- or item-related withdrawals/deposits per tab.
- Web access and display via World of Warcraft Armory.[1] Requires login.[2]
- Where to find the guild vaults.

Patch 11.0.2 issue
When patch 11.0.2 was released, some players' guild banks had items disappear. A support article acknowledged the issue and that it was being looked into. On 20 September 2024, the support article was unpublished and an update was posted in the US General Discussion forum:
Guild Bank Missing Items Update | 2024-09-20 13:03 | Linxy
As we investigated over the next couple of days, we found the culprit—a technical update that was made to support cross-realm guilds. An unexpected bug caused one of our maintenance processes to make some items disappear. Many of these items were related to professions materials from prior expansions, but it was possible for players to lose other items from their guild banks as well.
For the last few weeks, we've been packing up the missing items that we're able to identify as lost by this process, and we will soon mail those to the guild leader character for each affected guild.
Due to how some of the data was lost, we’ve reached a point where the result will be an incomplete restoration for some guilds, and we do not have a way to restore the remaining missing items for them.
We apologize for that and for the long wait here. We really appreciate your patience as we've worked through this difficult issue.Restoration system mail went out to guild masters several hours later, however roll-out of this approach has had its own issues with reports of some items taken from the mailbox as being inappropriately changed to soulbound or looted in less than pristine condition (contrary to when it was still in the mail). So far as of 21 September 2024, many players have reported receiving a small fraction of what was missing from their guild bank, while still others have stated receiving no mail at all despite also having been affected by the bug.
As of 12 October 2024, there has been no additional restoration mail nor official communication on the matter since the update post.
Notes
- Despite the wording in the post, many of those affected lost both profession reagents and non-reagents in equal measure. Battle pets, BoE gear, mounts, quest items, mail letters, etc. were also casualties of the data loss.
- On 13 November 2024, the "Guild Bank Missing Items Update" pinned thread was moved from General Discussion to Bug Report and renamed to "Guild Bank Missing Items Bug – Aug/Sept 2024".
- It was unpinned on 26 February 2025.
