Zone Map in Nazjatar during the Battle for Nazjatar.
Zone Map options.

The Zone Map (formerly the Battle Map[1] or Battlefield Map[2]) is a transluscent, rectangular map of the current zone that defaults to a position in the lower-right corner of the screen. This map was originally intended to mark PvP objectives and team locations during Battlegrounds, but it can be turned on in any zone using the default ⇧ Shift+M keybind.

This map differs from the full-featured World Map that is much larger, and the circular Minimap which only shows a player's immediate vicinity.

Patch changes

  • Bc icon.gif Patch 2.3.0 (2007-11-13): Renamed the Zone Map, available by pressing Shift-M outside PvP areas.[1]
  • WoW Icon update.png Patch 1.5.0 (2005-06-07): All friendly players appear during PvP Battlegrounds, not just party/raid members.[3]
