Azerite traits, or Azerite powers,[1] are passive abilities found on all Azerite Armor. Each Azerite Armor item has a unique set of traits to choose from. The power of the traits scales based on the armor piece's item level; the higher the item level, the stronger each trait is.

The traits are spread into five trait categories, all found on specific rings in the Azerite interface. Only one trait can be chosen per ring, for a total of 3 to 5 active traits per Azerite Armor piece (depending, of course, on how many rings the piece has). These choices can be reset using the Azerite Reforger.

All Azerite traits become inactive while a character is in the Shadowlands.

Center

The center is the same for every piece of Azerite Armor and offers no choice.

[Azerite Empowered] Increases Item Level by 5 and increases the potency of all Azerite powers granted by this item.

Defensive traits

Defensive traits provide a survivability boost—usually in the form of healing, absorption, damage reduction, or increased mobility.

[Azerite Fortification] When stunned, immobilized, or knocked back, you heal for 347.
[Bulwark of the Masses] When you are surrounded by 4 or more enemies, gain a shield that absorbs 832 damage. Cannot occur more than once every until cancelled.
[Gemhide] When dealt damage greater than 10% of your maximum health, gain 0 Avoidance and 0 Armor for 10 sec.
[Impassive Visage] When you take damage, heal for 139. Cannot occur more than once every 6 sec.
[Longstrider] Increases your movement speed by 3% of your highest secondary rating, up to 1%.
[Resounding Protection] Every 30 sec, gain an absorb shield for 208 for 30 sec.
[Self Reliance] While no enemies are within 20 yds, you heal for 70 every 3 sec.
[Vampiric Speed] When an enemy you harmed dies, you heal for 624 and gain 49 Speed for 6 sec.
[Cold Hearted] DeathKnight [Icebound Fortitude] heals for 5816 every sec and its cooldown is reduced by 15 seconds.
[Runic Barrier] DeathKnight [Anti-Magic Shell] absorbs 77 additional damage and its duration is increased to 6 seconds.
[March of the Damned] DeathKnight When you use [Death's Advance], gain 184 Speed for 15 sec. The cooldown of Death's Advance is reduced to 40 seconds.
[Burning Soul] DemonHunter When your [Consume Magic] consumes a beneficial Magic effect from the target, gain 1499 Absorb for 20 sec and shatter a Soul Fragment from the target.
[Soulmonger] DemonHunter Consuming a Soul Fragment shields you, granting 173 Absorb for 3 sec
[Thrive in Chaos] DemonHunter Each Fury / Pain spent heals you for 32 / 76 Health.
[Reawakening] Druid When you resurrect an ally with [Rebirth], they Absorb 1639 damage over 15 sec
[Switch Hitter] Druid An ability from your chosen Affinity grants an additional bonus for 20 sec.
[Ursoc's Endurance] Druid When you use [Barkskin] or [Survival Instincts], absorb 0 damage over 8 sec.
[Duck and Cover] Hunter Using [Feign Death] allows you to absorb 1622 damage over 6 sec, and Feign Death's cooldown is reduced to 25 seconds.
[Nature's Salve] Hunter [Exhilaration] heals you for an additional 35070 health, and the cooldown is reduced by 15 sec.
[Shellshock] Hunter Every 1 sec [Aspect of the Turtle] is active, heal for 122.
[Cauterizing Blink] Mage When you [Blink], heal for 171 every 1 sec for 4 sec.
[Eldritch Warding] Mage Your [Ice Barrier], [Blazing Barrier], and [Prismatic Barrier] absorb 146 additional damage.
[Quick Thinking] Mage Your instant cast damaging spells heal you for 794.
[Exit Strategy] Monk Rolling grants you 389 Avoidance for 2 sec. Taking non-periodic damage in this time reduces the cooldown of Roll by 5 sec.
[Sweep the Leg] Monk When you [Leg Sweep], your targets suffer 50% reduced movement speed, and you gain 0 Speed for 6 sec.
[Strength of Spirit] Monk While [Fortifying Brew] is active, heal for 92 every second.
[Empyreal Ward] Paladin [Lay on Hands] grants the target 870 armor for 1 min.
[Gallant Steed] Paladin Inspire yourself and nearby allies while [Divine Steed] is active, granting 77 Speed for 5 sec. Divine Steed's cooldown is reduced to 40 seconds.
[Stalwart Protector] Paladin When you cast [Divine Shield], grant 182 absorb for 15 sec to nearby allies.
[Death Denied] Priest [Leap of Faith] absorbs the next 10,736 damage to the target within 10 sec. While the shield holds, Leap of Faith cools down 200% faster.
[Sanctum] Priest When you cast [Fade], absorb 495 Magic damage for 10 sec.
[Twist Magic] Priest When you successfully [Dispel Magic], heal yourself and 4 injured allies for 0.
[Footpad] Rogue Allies within 8 yds while your [Sprint] is active gain 77 Speed.
[Lying In Wait] Rogue While no enemy is within 12 yds, heal for 689 every sec. While any enemy is within 12 yds, gain 173 Speed.
[Shrouded Mantle] Rogue [Cloak of Shadows] heals you for 171 every 1 sec, plus an additional 77 for each effect it negates.
[Ancient Ankh Talisman] Shaman While [Reincarnation] is off cooldown, your maximum health is increased by 2590. While you are at full health, Reincarnation cools down 50% faster.
[Pack Spirit] Shaman While [Ghost Wolf] is active, heal for 39 every 1 sec.
[Serene Spirit] Shaman When you cast [Astral Shift] and when Astral Shift ends, heal for 433.
[Desperate Power] Warlock While below 50% health, your [Drain Life] heals for an additional 77 health each 1 sec.
[Lifeblood] Warlock When you use a  [Healthstone], gain 88 Leech for 20 sec
[Terror of the Mind] Warlock [Soul Leech] gains X absorption every 1 sec while target is affected by [Fear].
[Bury the Hatchet] Warrior When you use [Victory Rush], gain 1622 Physical absorb for 10 sec.
[Intimidating Presence] Warrior [Intimidating Shout] reduces the movement speed of affected enemies by 50%, and prevents the next 8109 damage they deal after Intimidating Shout ends.
[Moment of Glory] Warrior Your [Rallying Cry] grants 385 additional Max Health to affected allies, and its duration is increased to 12 sec.

Role traits

Role traits are intended to empower a specific role: damage dealer, healer, or tank. Healer and tank traits are only available to classes with a specialization that fits that role.

[Blood Siphon] Increases your Mastery by X and your Leech by X/2.
[Earthlink] Azerite energy courses through you, reaching X primary stat and then diminishing down to X/6 primary stat, cycling every 12 sec.
[Heed My Call] Your damaging abilities have a chance to deal X Nature damage to your target, and 3X/7 Nature damage to enemies within 3 yards of that target.
[Lifespeed] Increases your Haste by X and your Avoidance by X/2.
[On My Way] Increases your Versatility by X and your Speed by X/2.
[Unstable Flames] Your damaging abilities have a chance to grant X critical strike rating for 5 sec. This effect stacks up to 5 times.
[Ablative Shielding] Tank Alert Falling below 20% health grants you 0 Armor for 10 sec. Taking further Physical damage reduces the Armor granted. May only occur every 30 sec.
[Crystalline Carapace] Tank Alert When dealt damage greater than 10% of your maximum health, gain 72 Armor and cause melee attackers to suffer 83 Physical damage. Lasts 12 sec.
[Winds of War] Tank Alert Taking damage grants you 0 Dodge for 3 sec, stacking up to 10 times.
[Azerite Veins] Tank Alert Taking damage has a chance to grant you Azerite Veins, healing you for 34 every 3 sec. Lasts 18 sec or until you are fully healed.
[Strength in Numbers] Tank Alert Taking damage has a chance to increase your maximum health by 1088 for each enemy within 0 yds, up to 5 enemies. Lasts 15 sec.
[Shimmering Haven] Tank Alert Taking damage has a chance to create an upwelling of Azerite beneath your feet, increasing your Health by 1905 and your Armor by 111 while you stand within it. Lasts until cancelled.
[Synergistic Growth] Healer Alert Casting your multi-target healing spell grants you 0 Mastery for 10 sec sec. This cannot occur more than once every 30 sec.
[Ephemeral Recovery] Healer Alert When you go below 20% mana, you gain X mana. Can only occur once every 3 minutes.
[Blessed Portents] Healer Alert Your healing spells have a chance to apply Blessed Portents for 20 sec. When the ally falls below 50% health, Blessed Portents is consumed and instantly restores 173 health.
[Bracing Chill] Healer Alert Your heals have a chance to apply Bracing Chill. Healing a target with Bracing Chill will heal for an additional 83 and move Bracing Chill to a nearby ally (up to 6 times).
[Concentrated Mending] Healer Alert Your healing effects have a chance to grant the target (7 * 2) additional healing every 2 sec for 12 sec. This effect doubles every 2 sec.
[Savior] Healer Alert Your heals on targets below 35% health have a chance to heal for an additional 0.
[Woundbinder] Healer Alert Your healing effects have a chance to increase your Haste by up to 0 for 6 sec. Healing lower health targets will grant you more Haste.
[Azerite Globules] Damage Dealer Alert Your damaging abilities have a chance to implant an Azerite Globule on your enemies. When an enemy collects 231 Azerite Globules, they explode, dealing 231 damage to nearby enemies.
[Gutripper] Damage Dealer Alert Your damaging abilities have a chance to deal 347 Physical damage to the target. Gutripper occurs much more often against targets below 30% health.
[Elemental Whirl] Damage Dealer Alert Your damaging abilities have a chance to grant you Elemental Whirl, increasing your Critical Strike, Haste, Mastery, or Versatility by 0 for 10 sec.
[Overwhelming Power] Damage Dealer Alert Your damaging abilities have a chance to grant you 25 applications of Overwhelming Power. Each stack of Overwhelming Power grants 0 Haste. An application of Overwhelming Power is removed every 1 sec or whenever you take damage.

Location traits

Location traits are thematically tied to where or how the Azerite Armor was obtained. For example, some location traits can only be found on armor obtained in Darkshore; others are found only on engineering-crafted armor; etc.

[Arcane Heart] Every 1500000 damage and healing done you gain Omnipotence, increasing your highest stat by X for 15 sec. You heal for 5% of all Arcane damage taken.
[Archive of the Titans] Your armor gathers and analyzes combat data every 5 sec, increasing your primary stat by X, stacking up to 20 times. The data decays while out of combat.
Enables Reorigination Array within Uldir.
[Blightborne Infusion] Your spells and abilities have a chance to draw a Wandering Soul from Thros to serve you for 14 sec. The Soul increases your Critical Strike by X.
[Blood Rite] Your spells and abilities have a chance to increase your Haste by X for 15 sec. Killing an enemy refreshes the duration of this effect.
[Bonded Souls] Your spells and abilities have a chance to trigger a Soulbond for 15 sec. During Soulbond, every 5 sec you and your nearest ally are both healed for X and gain Y Haste for 5 sec.
[Champion of Azeroth] Your spells and abilities have a chance to increase all secondary stats by X for 1 min, stacking up to 4 times.
[Clockwork Heart] Once per minute while in combat, gain X Haste, Critical Strike, Mastery, and Versatility for 12 sec.
[Dagger in the Back] Your damaging spells and abilities have a chance to fling a dagger at your target, causing them to bleed for X Physical damage over 12 sec, stacking up to 4 times. Stabbing them in the back applies 2 stacks.
[Fight or Flight] When you damage an enemy who is below 35% health, or fall below 35% health yourself, gain X primary stat and 10% movement speed for 8 sec. Can only occur once every 30 sec.
[Filthy Transfusion] Your damaging abilities have a chance to invoke a tainted swamp beneath the target, siphoning X health from them over 6 sec.
[Heart of Darkness] Your secondary stats are all increased by X while your Corruption Level is 25 or higher.
[Incite the Pack] You occasionally loose a tremendous roar, increasing your Mastery by X and granting Y Mastery to up to 2 nearby allies. Lasts 20 sec.
[Laser Matrix] Your spells and abilities have a chance to release a barrage of lasers, dealing X Arcane damage split among all enemies and restoring 2X health split among injured allies.
Enables Reorigination Array within Uldir.
[Loyal to the End] Your Mastery is increased by X, plus an additional X/4 for each ally also affected by Loyal to the End, up to 2X.
When you die, your allies gain Critical Strike, Haste, and Versatility equal to their Mastery bonus from this trait.
[Meticulous Scheming] Your spells and abilities have a chance to grant you Meticulous Scheming for 8 sec, which transforms into Seize the Moment! after you cast 3 different spells, granting you X Haste for 20 sec.
[Person-Computer Interface] A secondary stat of your choice is increased by 319 while using the Pocket-Sized Computation Device. Stat is chosen based on equipped Logic Board.
[Rezan's Fury] Your damaging abilities have a chance to call a Child of Rezan to viciously rend your target, dealing X Physical damage and causing them to bleed for 2X damage over 12 sec.
[Ruinous Bolt] Your spells and abilities have a chance to draw a Wandering Soul from Thros to serve you for 14 sec. The Soul blasts a nearby enemy every 2 sec, dealing X Shadow damage.
[Secrets of the Deep] Your spells and abilities have a chance to create a Surging Droplet nearby. Collecting it increases your primary stat by X for 18 sec. Rarely, a Void Droplet will be created, increasing your primary stat by 2X for 18 sec instead.
[Seductive Power] Your spells and abilities have a chance to conjure Bwonsamdi's spectral visage, beckoning you closer. If you approach him, gain X to all stats for 5 min, stacking up to 5 times. If you fail to heed his call, lose 1 stack.
[Swirling Sands] Your spells and abilities have a chance to conjure Swirling Sands, increasing your Critical Strike by X for 12 sec. Your critical effects extend Swirling Sands by 1 sec, up to a maximum duration of 18 sec.
[Thunderous Blast] Dealing damage has a chance to call down a Thunderous Blast, dealing X Nature damage to the enemy and increasing the damage of Thunderous Blast by 20%. At 100% increased damage, Thunderous Blast will critically hit and reset this effect.
[Tidal Surge] Your damaging spells and abilities have a chance to release a tidal surge, dealing X Frost damage to your target and slowing their movement speed by 20% for 6 sec.
[Tradewinds] Your spells and abilities have a chance to grant you X Mastery for 15 sec. When this effect expires it jumps once to a nearby ally, granting them X/5 Mastery for 8 sec.
[Treacherous Covenant] Your primary stat is increased by X while you are above 50% health. You take 15% increased damage while below 20% health.
[Undulating Tides] Your damaging spells and abilities have a chance to crash a wave upon your target for X/8 Frost damage.
When your health drops below 50%, gain a shield absorbing X damage within 8 sec. When this occurs, Undulating Tides cannot trigger again for 45 sec.
[Unstable Catalyst] Your spells and abilities have a chance to leak Azerite on the ground around you. Standing in the Azerite increases your primary stat by X for 8 sec.
[Ancients' Bulwark] Alliance Standing still grants you Deep Roots, increasing your Versatility by X. Moving instead grants you Uprooted, healing you for Y every 1 sec.
[Anduin's Dedication] Alliance Your abilities have a chance to increase your primary stat by X for 10 sec. If an ally dies nearby, you gain this effect.
[Battlefield Precision] Alliance Your abilities have a chance to apply 20 stacks of Battlefield Precision to an enemy, increasing damage taken from members of the Alliance by X. Applying Battlefield Precision to a member of the Horde grants an additional 5 stacks.
[Last Gift] Alliance Your spells and abilities have a chance to grant X Mastery and absorb Y damage for 10 sec. Attacking a member of the opposite faction significantly increases this chance.
[Liberator's Might] Alliance Your spells and abilities have a chance to grant X Critical Strike and Y Haste for 10 sec. Attacking a member of the opposite faction significantly increases this chance.
[Shadow of Elune] Alliance Your spells and abilities have a chance to increase your Haste by X for 15 sec. At night, you also gain 10% movement speed for the duration.
[Stand As One] Alliance Your abilities have a chance to drop an Alliance Banner for 10 sec, increasing primary stats by X/20 and maximum health by X for yourself and up to 4 allies.
[Stronger Together] Alliance Your abilities have a chance to plant a banner representing an Alliance race for 10 sec, granting you and up to 4 allies X of their primary stat or Y of a secondary stat.
[Apothecary's Concoctions] Horde Your damaging abilities have a chance to deal X Plague damage over 6 sec, and your healing abilities have a chance to restore 2X health over 6 sec. These effects are increased by up to 100% based on the target's missing health.
[Battlefield Focus] Horde Your abilities have a chance to apply 20 stacks of Battlefield Focus to an enemy, increasing damage taken from members of the Horde by X. Applying Battlefield Focus to a member of the Alliance grants an additional 5 stacks.
[Collective Will] Horde Your abilities have a chance to drop a Horde Banner for 10 sec, increasing primary stats by X/20 and maximum health by X for yourself and up to 4 allies.
[Combined Might] Horde Your abilities have a chance to plant a banner representing a Horde race for 10 sec, granting you and up to 4 allies X of their primary stat or Y of a secondary stat.
[Endless Hunger] Horde Your Versatility is increased by X. Moving near an enemy's corpse consumes their essence, restoring Y health.
[Glory in Battle] Horde Your spells and abilities have a chance to grant X Critical Strike and Y Haste for 10 sec. Attacking a member of the opposite faction significantly increases this chance.
[Retaliatory Fury] Horde Your spells and abilities have a chance to grant X Mastery and absorb Y damage for 10 sec. Attacking a member of the opposite faction significantly increases this chance.
[Sylvanas' Resolve] Horde Your abilities have a chance to increase your primary stat by X for 10 sec. If an ally dies nearby, you gain this effect.
[Auto-Self-Cauterizer] Engineering Taking damage has a chance to unleash your Auto-Self-Cauterizer, healing you for X, removing most* bleed effects, and snaring nearby enemies by 30% for 5 sec.
Increases your Kul Tiran or Zandalari Engineering by 30.
[Barrage Of Many Bombs] Engineering Your spells and abilities have a chance to fire a bomb at your target, which when in proximity breaks into 5 smaller bombs. Upon hitting the ground, each smaller bomb deals X damage to all nearby enemies.
Increases your Kul Tiran or Zandalari Engineering by 25.
[Personal Absorb-o-Tron] Engineering Taking damage has a chance to call your Personal Absorb-o-Tron, absorbing 50% of damage taken over 20 sec, up to X.
Increases your Kul Tiran or Zandalari Engineering by 30.
[Relational Normalization Gizmo] Engineering Your spells and abilities have a chance to grow or shrink the world. Shrinking the world grants you X/25 primary stat and X maximum health for 10 sec. Growing the world grants you Y Haste and 25% movement speed for 10 sec.
Increases your Kul Tiran or Zandalari Engineering by 25.
[Ricocheting Inflatable Pyrosaw] Engineering Your spells and abilities have a chance to hurl a R.I.P that bounces among 4 enemies, dealing X Fire damage to each.
Beneficial spells have a chance to hurl a Mechanized External Needle Dispenser, healing up to 4 allies for Y.
Increases your Kul Tiran or Zandalari Engineering by 25.
[Synaptic Spark Capacitor] Engineering Your spells and abilities have a chance to cause the target to become a Spark Coil for 10 sec. Enemies within 8 yards of the Spark Coil take X damage every 2 seconds and deal 5% reduced damage to you.
Increases your Kul Tiran or Zandalari Engineering by 25.

Class traits

Class traits provide a boost to abilities granted by the player's class or specialization. Since there are nearly 300 of them, they won't be listed here. They can instead be found in Category:Azerite traits.

Trivia

Patch changes

Developers' notes: We'd like to see sustained damage become a greater source of pressure in Arena and Battlegrounds, but the passive healing providing by these Azerite Traits offsets much of that damage. We think that by decreasing their impact, we'll see greater pressure on health and mana pools going forward.
  • Battle for Azeroth Hotfix (2019-01-29): Effectiveness changed for a number of Azerite traits.
    • Developers' notes: Based on data observed since Tides of Vengeance launched, we have several tuning changes for Azerite traits. The goal of these changes is to improve the usability of some class traits, as well as rein in the power of some of the newer traits in a way that still preserves their core coolness. Additionally, some Azerite traits changed value dramatically with changes to specs in Tides of Vengeance, so we're taking this opportunity to rebalance those traits as the Mythic Raid opens.
