Reincarnation is a shaman ability that allows them to instantly resurrect themselves upon death with 20% of maximum health and mana.
Notes
- Reincarnation does not count towards the maximum number of combat resurrections.
- Reincarnation cannot be used while affected by a warlock's
[Soulstone]; the Soulstone must be used first. - Reincarnation cannot be used in arenas.
Trivia
- Reincarnate is a common Shaman spell in the Curse of Naxxramas adventure of Hearthstone. The flavor text reads: "It's like birth, except you're an adult and you were just dead a second ago."
- This spell is almost a carbon copy of the Warcraft III spell of the same name. Reincarnation was the ultimate ability for the Tauren Chieftain, which allowed him to come back to life with full health and mana at no cost.
- As dying resets threat, this is sometimes jokingly referred to as "the shaman aggro dump".
Patch changes
Patch 9.1.0 (2021-06-29): Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented Shamans from being able to use Reincarnation after 
[Forgeborne Reveries] expired. - Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Now learned at level 8 (was 26).
Patch 8.1.5 (2019-03-12): No longer resets upon starting a Proving Grounds challenge. 
Patch 7.1.0 (2016-10-25): Now learned at level 26 (was 32). 
Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Now learned at level 32 (was 30). No longer requires an [Ankh]. 
Patch 4.0.6 (2011-02-08): Can now correctly be used after Soulstone Resurrection or 
[Rebirth] has already been used on the shaman during a boss encounter. - Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Now has a new, unique icon (was ).
Patch 3.3.0 (2009-12-08): The cooldown on this spell has been lowered from 60 minutes down to 30 minutes. 
Patch 1.12.0 (2006-08-22): Should now display the cooldown timer when used. - Patch 1.6.0 (2005-07-12):
- Self-resurrection spells show their name on the button in the release spirit dialog.
- Reincarnation will no longer be an option on death when a Soulstone effect is active on the Shaman. The Soulstone will be used as the higher priority effect.
- Patch 1.3.0 (2005-03-07): Reincarnation no longer causes Resurrection sickness.
- Patch 1.1.1 (2004-11-17): Added.
