The Ancient Bough^{[18.8, 51.6]} is a sacred isle^[1] located just off the western coast of the Emerald Gardens in the Ohn'ahran Plains. On it stands the Dream Portal, which was the first connection forged between the green dragonflight and the Emerald Dream.^[2] Nature magic billows out of the portal and diffuses through the Emerald Gardens, encouraging life to thrive.^[3] The isle is also home to the green flight's Emerald Oathstone, which stands on the eastern shore.

Shortly after the greens returned to the Emerald Gardens, a Primalist army led by Koroleth attacked the area in an attempt to reach the Ancient Bough and its portal. The greens repelled them^[4] and erected a magical barrier, powered by a circle of stone pillars around the isle, to keep anyone from entering. The Primalists later launched a new invasion at the Storm Scar, where Koroleth tried to destroy one of the pillars to disable the barrier.^[5] However, the dragons' centaur and adventurer allies defeated Koroleth and scattered the Primalists.^[1] Merithra invited the adventurer and the centaur khans to join her on the isle,^[6] where they performed a ceremony to renew the pact between their peoples, reawakening the dormant Emerald Oathstone in the process.^[7]
