Itharius is a dragon who serves as the green dragonflight ambassador with the Wyrmrest Accord. His brother Eranikus, the consort of Ysera, was one of the first dragons to succumb to the Emerald Nightmare's corruption.[1]
Biography
Itharius was among the dragons sent by Ysera to watch over the ruins of the Temple of Atal'Hakkar, along with Eranikus and the young drakes[2] that would be known as the Wardens of the Dream.
World of Warcraft
He used to be a quest giver located in Itharius's Cave in the Swamp of Sorrows. He appears as a high elf who dwells in a reasonably civilized cave near the perimeter of the swamp. Itharius seems almost to be 'baby sitting' a flock of rather cantankerous green whelps.
When the green dragons in the Temple of Atal'Hakkar were driven mad by both the Emerald Nightmare and the Atal'ai, Itharius called for help from the Cenarion Circle who in turn sent a force from the Alliance to clear the temple.[3]
Wrath of the Lich King
He later appears as Lord Itharius <Ambassador of the Green Dragonflight>, a quest giver found at Wyrmrest Temple in the Dragonblight, working to defend the Emerald Dragonshrine.
Cataclysm
Lord Itharius was relocated from his cave in Swamp of Sorrows and relocated to the sunken Temple of Atal'Hakkar and is the primary quest giver for the revamped dungeon.
Following the final defeat of Deathwing at the Maelstrom, Itharius now resides in the Horde capital of Orgrimmar with a 
[Fragment of Deathwing's Jaw]. He allows members of the Horde to witness the events that transpired there if spoken to.
Legion
Seeking leads on who wants her dead Chromie asks Itharius if he's noticed anything suspicious and he speaks of the ancients being unable to rest at the Emerald Dragonshrine.
Battle for Azeroth
When the Void invaded the Emerald Dream, Itharius appeared with Merithra in the Emerald Dreamway. He later assisted in empowering the Reforged Emerald Essence in the Emerald Dream.
Dragonflight
Itharius can be found within the Ancient Bough after Ysera has returned to Azeroth from Ardenweald. He stands in the grove, not too far from Valithria Dreamwalker.
Later, he came to the Central Encampment in the Emerald Dream and went to the Eye of Ysera.[4] Under the command of Merithra, he defended the area from the invading forces of Fyrakk and planned strategies with Gerithus and Somnikus.[5]
He also participated in the gathering at Amirdrassil when it bloomed on the Dragon Isles after Fyrakk's death. Afterward, he can be found at the Root-Bound Sanctuary with Somnikus.

Greetings, <race>. I am Lord Itharius of the Green Dragonflight.
I am here to free my kin from the evil within this temple, hopefully for good. Will you assist me?
- Temple of Atal'Hakkar
Hakkar is known by many names. Some call him the Blood God, others simply refer to him as The Soulflayer. Titles aside, he is an entity of enormous power with malicious intentions for our world.
My flight discovered this temple early on and sank it beneath the Swamp of Sorrows. Unfortunately, we only seemed to aid the Atal'ai by ensuring their efforts to summon Hakkar went on undisturbed. Many of the dragons tasked with guarding the temple have been corrupted, and the Soulflayer's presence grows with each passing day.
I cannot stop them alone. Together, though, we might have enough time to stop this madness.

I know who you are, <name>. Fate and forces beyond that have brought you to me for a reason, and it is one I take no pleasure in being a part of. There are many decisions you will make in the coming times, and I hope you are wise enough to make the correct ones.
Believe me, <race>, when I tell you this - there are correct choices.

You are quite inquisitive, though such inquisitiveness belies a general lack of understanding. I say this because were you to have a definite purpose in being here, the question you ask would seem pointless
With that, I bid you good day.
- Do you know someone... or something, rather, by the name of Eranikus?
You know I do, mortal; I am abandoning a fair number of pretenses here, and I recommend you do the same.
You have come here clearly because you know that what you possess, garned from your actions within the Sunken Temple of the Atal'ai, has brought you to me for a purpose. The purpose is to put my associate... my brother, to rest. He is trapped within a nightmare within the Dream itself. He cannot break free alone.
- What happened to him in the first place? When I... encountered him, he was rather malicious.
The god that the Atal'ai trolls had brought forth is to blame for this. We destroyed the god's physical manifestation and sunk the temple but the god was so much stronger than even we had anticipated. Its seed of corruption ran deep twisting everything in its path.
Eranikus was charged to watch over the sunken temple to ensure that neither the simple Atal'ai nor their god would rise again. He was an unwitting victim of this corruption, and we in underestimating its potency.
- I possess part of Eranikus' essence. What do you want with it... or with me?
The fact that you are here is a first step... a correct choice if you will, in aiding Ysera's Dragonflight.
You may be here for purely the lure of personal gain, or you may be here because you are morally compelled. Neither reason is important on its own, but both are in fact critical to this end: The agony that Eranikus endures is what rousted me from my Dream, and it is now my charge to see his torment ended. I now ask you to aid me in this quest.
