Speculation

  • Winter Queen and Elune are sisters
  • Kael's adversary in SL is Arthas, Dar'khan, or Garithos.
    • Is Kel'Thuzad.
  • The Jailer or the Arbiter is the creator of the Helm and Frostmourne.
  • Arthas is in the Maw. Maybe Garry too.
  • Denathrius is a nathrezim (lord of dread reference). In order to somewhat remain true to the nathrezim creating Frostmourne lore, Denathrius was involved.

Rant, aka how it should have been

  • Cenarius is ok to have gone to Ardenweald after being killed by Grom, but it should have been phrased that he spent only a half of time there - initial recuperation - and then he would move to the ED, from which he was eventually summoned during Cata.
  • To avoid unnecessary retcons, introduce a plot-twist in the form of explaining the origin of the Helm of Domination's gem. The Helm and Frostmourne would retain its original lore, but the focus would be on the gem, which would have been stolen by demons from the SL and then merged with the Helm as the nathrezim forged it. The gem would remain linked to the SL, explaining the source of the necromantic power of the Scourge and the Cult. In the cinematic, Sylvanas would destroy the Helm first to get to the gem ("to break a protection spell") and then destroy the gem as well which would shatter the veil / rift between the Shadowlands and Azeroth.
  • The planes should have had important characters non-native to Shadowlands and coming from an unknown world in the same role / importance as Draka, Vashj, and Alexandros.
  • Kael and Vashj better reunite and be besties again.
  • A connection should have been made between Illidan's attack on Northrend and Sylvanas breaking the sky above Icecrown.
