Edwin VanCleef is an elite human boss found in the Deadmines.
Adventure Guide
Formerly the leader of the Stonemasons Guild, disputes with the House of Nobles led VanCleef to leave Stormwind City and create the Defias Brotherhood. VanCleef then claimed the Deadmines as a base of operations to construct the juggernaut that would begin his retribution.
Abilities
Original
Thrash — Gave the caster 2 extra attacks.
VanCleef's Allies — Summoned a pair of Defias Blackguards to assist the caster.
Classic Timewalking
Rupture — VanCleef stabs his target, inflicting 6 Physical damage every 2 sec for 10 sec.
Shadowstep 
— VanCleef steps into the shadows, reappearing behind a random enemy and stabbing them in the back for 125 Physical damage. VanCleef fixates on his target for 2 sec.
VanCleef's Allies 
— At 50% health, VanCleef calls for aid from nearby thugs in the shadows.- Defias Blackguard
— VanCleef's thugs gang up on any who oppose the Brotherhood.
- Rupture — The Blackguard stabs their target, inflicting 6 Physical damage every 2 sec for 10 sec.
Strategy
Before engaging VanCleef, players should defeat Captain Greenskin, who patrols the area where VanCleef is standing. VanCleef is initially accompanied by two level 19 - 20 Defias Blackguards.
When VanCleef's health drops below 50%, two additional level 19 - 20 blackguards spawn. Depending on the group's damage, ignoring the adds and just attacking VanCleef is a possible tactic to kill him. Stunning him in at this moment will stop him from summoning the additional blackguards.
Another method that works is standing on the cannon to the left, just before you would step into the area Captain Greenskin patrolled. Drawing VanCleef them to the cannon, then using a ranged attack while standing on top of it to distract the adds, causes the Blackguards to evade but remain incapacitated until the attacks stop.
