Alzzin the Wildshaper is a satyr found in the Warpwood Quarter of Dire Maul. He is the final boss of the wing. Old Ironbark opens the door to access Alzzin.

The  [Felvine Shard] is located behind him. You do not require to have the quest N [15-30D] Shards of the Felvine before you pick up  [Felvine Shard].

History

Legends say that Alzzin was a talented arcane illusionist, one of the first students of the satyr Lord Xavius. After the defeat of the Burning Legion in the Battle of Mount Hyjal, Alzzin moved south to Feralas to continue his masters' mission. He set out to corrupt the forests of Kalimdor, but one satyr, armed only with tricks, could find little success. He found what he needed in his former home of Eldre'Thalas. He corrupted the Highborne Shrine of Eldretharr hosting the Fruit of Fertility, using its power to shape illusions all his own. With his success, Alzzin became feared as the Wildshaper, for his power over the enslaved protectors of nature.[1]

At some point, he ambushed and killed Isalien. He also created  [The Wildshaper's Clutch].

The threat of Alzinn was taken care of years before the Fourth War by wandering adventurers, but traces of his power within the corrupted walls are still present. After the Fourth War, Zekhan confirmed that Alzzin is not in the ruins, which left him relieved and nervous.[1]

Adventure Guide

Alzzin the Wildshaper seeks nothing less than the total corruption of Feralas, but until he discovered the Shrine of Eldretharr in Dire Maul, he had little success. With the power of enslaved ancients at his command, Alzzin concentrated the vitality of the surrounding forest into his lair, allowing him to manipulate it at will.

Combat Info

  • Alzzin will turn into a worg and treant during the fight. Apparently, he is some kind of twisted druid.
  • When Alzzin hits about 30% health, he will summon a horde of non-elite imps to help him. When this occurs, any unkilled lashers in his room will also aggro. It is therefore strongly recommended that these be cleared first.
  • If the party wipes, it is possible to simply drop down into the area where Old Ironbark was from the entrance to quickly get back to Alzzin, although one should be at full health before attempting to do so.
