Murozond is an alternate version of the aspect of the bronze dragonflight, Nozdormu. He is the lord of the infinite dragonflight and can be encountered within the End Time dungeon and briefly during Dawn of the Infinite. His goals appear to be the opposite of Nozdormu; rather than preserve the timeways, he wishes to twist them into an 'idealized' version of the timeline, where his dragons reign supreme.
Background
Murozond is the leader of the infinite dragonflight, and a future counterpart of the Aspect of Time, Nozdormu. In some future, Nozdormu is corrupted by the Old Gods and creates the infinite dragonflight.[3][4] Murozond is described as existing out of time, living alone among time-twisted echoes of the past. He made his lair in one of an infinite number of potential futures, called the End Time.[5][2] He notably wanted to prevent Thrall, by intervening at various points in time during his life, from stopping the Hour of Twilight. Murozond believed that the End Time, a potential future where the Hour of Twilight successfully happens, would still make for a much better future than the "true End Time" that he had witnessed.[6]
War of the Ancients
When Nozdormu spoke to Krasus who had been thrown back in time, he apologized and asked forgiveness for what he will do in the future. Nozdormu said that it is his curse and fate to know what will happen but be unable to prevent it, for he must be what he is destined to be.
The Burning Crusade
The master of the infinite dragonflight tasked Aeonus to oversee the disruption of key moments in the true timeway.[7]
Wrath of the Lich King
Chromie sought to discover who the leader of the infinite dragons was. Once her spell was finished she saw an image of Nozdormu, but dismissed that answer as wrong because it didn't make sense to her.[8]
Charge of the Aspects
After Nozdormu sent twelve bronze dragons through the timeways, they discovered that no matter where they attempted to journey in history, they always emerged at the same point in the future, the Hour of Twilight. The twelve came under attack by the infinite dragonflight, with Murozond personally almost killing Zirion, who would later die from his injuries.[9]
Cataclysm
Murozond used the Hourglass of Time to interfere with his past counterpart's efforts to send heroes to the past, which would result in a change of the bleak future, in which the maddened wyrm made his lair.
Murozond was ultimately confronted and killed by Azeroth's heroes, with his dying words calling out to Aman'Thul. Even with his death, Nozdormu knew that he would some day fall in the future, and the cycle would repeat.
Dragonflight
After the discovery of the Dragon Isles, Chrono-Lord Deios intended to usher in the coming of the one true Aspect, whose dominion shall be infinite.[10]
Eternus later attacked Nozdormu at the Temporal Conflux with the intention of corrupting him into Murozond, and though she failed in this attempt, she left she told Nozdormu that she would try again. Nozdormu, resigned to his fate, sadly admitted that he thought he had more time. He asked Chromie to do what must be done when the time comes, and Chromie promised that instead she'd find another way, and search for answers in every timeline to save him.[11]
At some point, the infinite dragonflight made a bargain with Iridikron, in exchange for taking him to the time of Galakrond's demise, he would act as a distraction to any allies of the bronze dragonflight that sought to stop them. Their plan finally came to pass, as while Chromie and adventurers were focused on stopping Iridikron from acquiring Galakrond's essence, Chrono-Lord Deios did battle with the Proto-Aspects and seemingly corrupted the proto-dragon version of Nozdormu into Murozond. With this single time alteration, the infinite dragonflight changed the history of Azeroth and created a new timeline - where Tyr never died and became a infinite-corrupt version of himself that guarded the Infinite Citadel. In order to restore Azeroth's timeline, Chromie and her allies made their way back into the past and aided the Proto-Aspects in stopping Deios, while Iridikron was able to successfully claim Galakrond's essence.
In the aftermath, Nozdormu thanked adventurers for saving him from the fate that he thought was all but inevitable,[12] showing his belief that his transformation into Murozond is no longer an inevitability. However, it is unclear if the rise of Murozond has been completely averted.
Inevitable?
Nozdormu's fate as Murozond is a point of contention within and outside of the game itself. The infinite dragonflight believes Murozond to be inevitable; indeed some form of him has existed as Murozond is ultimately faced in the End Times as a boss. Chronikar is said to have spent multiple lifetimes in service to the flight;[13][14] showing that Murozond's corruption and ultimate escape from the concept of the timeways is non-linear.
Whether Nozdormu's fate was inevitable seems to have been unclear. Nozdormu stated that the End Time was not an "inevitable" future,[15] Alurmi adds afterwards that the End Time was overwritten as a timestrand,[16] and Alexstrasza in her post-Cataclysm meeting with Nozdormu and others confirms that they "had altered that future forever", thereby erasing his responsibility for Murozond.[17]
From the titanic perspective in World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 3, it was stated that Nozdormu's fate was "inescapable".[18] Yet Murozond is ultimately prevented by the intervention of heroes and Chronormu in Dawn of the Infinite, leaving Nozdormu to believe that Murozond is not an inevitability for him; just one of many possibilities. On the other hand, Murozond's rise was said to be a result of the Old Gods tricking him into trying to subvert his fixed death, which is not what occurs in Dawn of the Infinite. He was also merely said to be using End Time as a base, not that he is from that timeline. All this together means Murozond could still occur. Furthermore, the Murozond whose existence was prevented was spawned from a past Nozdormu, before he even became an Aspect, which is definitely outside the timeline explained for him.

In Hearthstone
Murozond was available as an Arena-exclusive legendary card during the limited-time Taverns of Time event in Hearthstone.
The Lord of the Infinite reappears in the Descent of Dragons expansion as the legendary priest card Murozond the Infinite, whose Battlecry effect replays all of the cards the player's opponent played the previous turn. His flavor text reads: "Well, I'm glad YOU knew what I should be doing this turn."
Trivia
- Murozond's name is an anagram of Nozdormu.
- One of Murozond's quotes (To repeat the same action and expect different results is madness.) is derived from a quote often attributed to Albert Einstein, though actually comes from a Narcotics Anonymous pamphlet from the 1970s.
- Unlike other infinite dragons, Murozond's voice does not have an echo effect.
- It is hinted that Murozond is attempting to bring about the End Time to avert a far worse future (from his perspective). See Hour of Twilight#Speculations.
- One important part of Murozond that's often overlooked is that he is not from the End Time timeline, but merely using it as the infinite dragonflight's base of operations, as he is stated to be outside of time.
